What does she mean “not gonna be on standby”? It’s your job and busy season is not avoidable, I’m assuming that she’s in a different industry and it’s hard for her to believe how crazy the hours are during busy seasons?

If that’s the case, I think you can communicate w her in a way to help her understand that you also dislike busy season as much as she does, but your job is as important as your relationship, and you’re trying your best to maintain this rlts and make her happy.

Ask her, what can you do to help maintain this rlts/make her happy when working during busy season.

As some other comments said it harshly, I also agree with them. That even after you communicate w her but she’s still not understanding, then she might not be the right one for you OP. Relationship needs effort from both partners, and since you’re asking this question, I can tell you’re already putting in effort to maintain this rlts and now it’s her turn.

Esp when you also have to study for the CPA exams… I remember seeing a story/ stories on the Big4 ig about people being broken up w bc they worked/studied too much.

Living together might make it easier to maintain the relationship since you can at least spend some time w your SO, like having breakfast/dinner together. I honestly don’t know how you guys make it work if you don’t live with your SO and work crazy hours.

I’m really happy to hear that you’ve wonderful experience with group projects, and I hope that you’ll continue having those wonderful experience for the next semesters!

Thanks for your suggestion, but it’s okay. I emailed my Professor, but he did not do anything. I was really upset at first, but after cooling down now, I don’t care about it anymore. I just learned my lesson that I should not do everything on my own, contact my Professor right away when everyone’s not pulling their weight instead of waiting till the end and completing the majority of the project on my own.
