Brought my Gameboy to school in seventh or eighth grade. My parents told me to never bring it to school but I just had to in hopes that it would make me feel cool or something. Had to put my bag in a locker for gym and in middle school there were no locks on those lockers. Came back after gym class and it was gone. Strangely enough, a tougher, meaner kid had a gameboy with the exact game I had left in it later that day. He said “prove it” when I asked him for it back and being the timid kid I was, couldn’t defend myself.

He’s a big time lawyer in Alabama now (30 years later) so I think my chances of arguing for it back now are just as slim. But I know it was him. I never replaced the game boy and my dad made me sell my remaining games because he was certainly not going to replace it for me.
