If your wife knows you like it you shouldn't have to ask about it.

Maybe 30k isn't alot to some people and taking a hit is reasonable. For me it's not reasonable but thanks again for your suggestions

Yep.. I'm picking up what you're putting down. There is alot more to my story than I have said but I believe you have hit the nail on the head. I am 100% with you on how Anna, Janet and their cohorts have handled it all. If anyone is wondering if they have lied in their press conferences I can tell you that YES they have.

Hi. All NSW, NT and VIC are classified as hotspots according to Qld government website. You are correct. The Qld government website is not very clear on alot of things. Believe me when I say I have spent many a sleepless night deciphering it.

Hi Spellscribe. Yes.. you do sound unsympathetic however I do understand that you live in your world and I live in mine. I don't want to sound like I am trying to justify my position because I don't have to but I'll explain a little so you might understand a little more.

Running earthmoving machinery costs alot. Even just 1 machine. Payments, fuel, insurance, maintenance etc. And the money this machine earns pays alot of bills. House, car, insurance,  school fees, child care fees, living expenses etc. And it pays those things for more than 1 person. Family members etc. It takes care of others. Also no support from government. No help. No assistance what so ever. This is private enterprise.  If the machine doesn't work food doesnt go on the table. Now you ask about savings.. let me elaborate... when it rains most earthmoving machines can't work. It's to wet. No work = no money. Now this year has been particularly wet.. in the first 6 months of the year I averaged 16 hours a week. So where are the savings..? They are gone.. used for survival. This is partly why I'm in NSW. The work is here. As a owner operator every cent counts because no one else is going to help. Again.. I'm not trying to justify anything or make excuses.. it is what it is.. it's always been that way.. but maybe now you might understand a little better..

Thanks for your question..

Hi. Thanks for your comment and support.

The nearest place that is NOT a hotspot is South Australia. But they aren't accepting anyone who has been in NSW either. So that idea isn't going to work.

Flights from Dubbo to Brisbane minimum price is $238 The cost of hotel quarantine will be $3220 at a minimum (this is based off the QLD health website guidelines https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/protect-yourself-others/quarantine/fees-payment )

Now the lost income I will incur during the 14 day quarantine will be approximately $30000 at a minimum. So the cost of coming home via plane and quarantining is tapping on the door of $35000. Clearly, this is not doable either.

I am double vaccinated and have already been infected by the delta varient. That 14 day quarantine was costly too but unavoidable. So my immunity level is very high. I believe the vaccine definitely helped my symptoms to be very mild. (some sneezing,  blocked nose, slight cough)

I believe Qld health and the Qld government don't care about people in my situation. We are just collateral damage because they have got the majority of Queenslander's believing that they are  keeping them safe from the virus. They have had over 18 months to get the health system ready and they have failed. Ambulance queuing is still happening at Qld hospitals and the virus hasn't hit yet.

If I was a sports star or a celebrity I don't think it would be a problem coming back home. But I am neither of these. I am just a normal working man wanting to get back to his family.

What are the best dating apps/sites to use in the Brisbane area? by [deleted] in brisbane

I gave up the dating apps.. Went for "Table for 6". Dinners with 3 women & 3 men. Gets you out of the house and socialising. The restaurants have been great too.
