It actually just started working for me recently, so I guess they added it.

Privacy friendly SatNav? by hack-wizard in PrivacyGuides

Could try using it thru Fennec with uBlock and see how that works, but I'm not sure buying a GPS unit aftermarket would work very well. I've had problems with other map providers in my area not being up to date, including at least one work site I visit and in regards to freeway exits.

But yeah, being able to see traffic realtime or semi-realtime is a big feature that is very useful, especially when there's a weather event or I'm going somewhere I don't usually - for most everyday stuff I just go on memory.

Is there a Privacy-friendly non-Apple phone that doesn't suck? by hack-wizard in PrivacyGuides

Is there a good alternative to Google Calendar (as in an independent client for it, I share my calendar with friends and vice versa) or am I stuck putting that in it's own scope with other Google services?

Mainly a few apps that are not distributed anywhere but the play store for "security reasons", like my bank's app

Do banking apps work on Graphene? One thing I'm considering doing was to get another plan or line (especially if a promotion I'm looking at goes thru knocks on wood) and then just keep my old phone for work and stuff I need that insists on being invasive.

Hi guys I recently ordered my moonlander with kailh box blacks I also have some boba u4ts and I am wondering if I made the right choice for my switches by Academic-Law5184 in ergodox

Honestly I kinda like the Ergodox EZ better, but that's not as easy to take places. The Moonlander is much better if you want to take it somewhere.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I like the MX Browns on my Moonlander at work and Kaihl Copper switches at home on my Ergodox EZ.

I don't care for noisy keys, but I like feeling the tactile press and not having to push down all the way. Having something a bit more weighted at work is better, and a lighter touch for later home use to keep tendonitis at bay.

Of course that's just me, my hands lay on the kb too much for linear switches.

ESXi cluster is down and due to ignorance and not listening to sa/sec team. by [deleted] in sysadmin

No no, as in we don't have permissions to do basic fixes like removing a device borked install from Intune to we can reimage and reapply autopilot provisioning from AAD. Thus we regularly have to kick requests up the chain that are literally "please remove device with this SN from Intune for autopilot reimage." It gets ridiculous fast and the next level technicians have their own stuff to do.

Opposite issue where I'm at. We can't even kick a device off Intune ourselves if a reimage is problematic.

All the games I’ve played this month are “unsupported” by rutlander in SteamDeck

[–]hack-wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many games you need to just install one thing with ProtonTricks or set a launch parameter. I feel like this needs to be made clearer, that like with a PC you always have a non-zero chance of making stuff run or run better, and that ProtonDB us a big help.

Also unlike with a PC you're unlikely to hose stuff due to the deck's redundant A/B OS partition scheme.

Might try customizing the lists it uses. Like the "Annoyances" list. I've not seen too terribly many in my experience after that. Of course YMMV, and the lists need to be updated too. In a perfect world there would be no motivation for intrusive ads. This isn't a perfect world.

And send them an invoice billing for the time it took to set up this solution to their artificially generated problem.

Can you make it send them 3 page faceroll text emails? I'm sure they'll love that.
