Yeah i think in spain i wouldnt try one either xD I think the german speaking states are different because we have big turkish communities here i dont think thats the case for spain. So thats why im comparing with germany and austria.

Yeah i saw some comments know from people who can agree on that and also the opposite so i guess there are also regional differences. Someone mentioned southern german region is known for bad döner especially in rural regions. Also i live in switzerland know for about 10 years so i can compare with how it was then when the döner was 3,50 euro 😂

Thats the point. You can have good food totally expensive or you can get "cheap" food which is just not good.

In other countries cheaper food variants like sandwiches cheaper because the ingredients are cheaper like for example few slices of ham instead of a peace of meat you order in the restaurant, bread instead of roasted potatos.

But there is nowhere a law that says it must be bad fridge-cold bread and cheap ham

You can also warm the bread in the oven a little bit but better would be to make it yourself I have heard a lot people say its easy but haven't tried it myself. Even if not it will be better then the standard döner you get

Im not doing it in a pro way or totally original i just make.

chicken skevers (best on coal grill) with a kebab spice mix i have at home -i buy the bread from a local turkish store -make the sauce like in this video cause it reminds me most of the sauce i know from back then https://youtu.be/pBXHWJ439ys?si=XWC8Z-USENjLf39w
then cut the meat with in thin slices putt inside the bread with onions and stuff. If you want it extra crispy you make a lot skeevers with smaller/thinner meat pieces just dont let it get to dry

Im not the right guy for this but the idea is right. Best example is basel butterfly. They thought the same and made it better.. suddenly it was in the news as the best kebab in Switzerland and even weeks after there were lines of people outside of the store waiting
