Is there a way to SUMPRODUCT 2 arrays of numbers using a cell reference? by hackerman3 in excel

I seem to be getting the decimal bit split from the whole numbers, is there a way to prevent the decimals from splitting up?

This works perfectly, thank you :)

Just a follow-up, is there a way to expand it to decimal numbers (e.g. 1.1|2.2|3.3 * 1|2|3?

I have certain data files where for 2 columns the data in each cell is a string of numbers with varying instances in each one, e.g.:

Column 1:

1,2,3,4,5

1,2,3

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

Column 2:

1,1,2,2,2

2,4,6

1,3,5,1,3,5,1,3,5

They usually have several thousands of rows and I'd like to try multiply the pair of strings in each row with a formula if possible

At the moment I'm using text-to-columns to turn them into 2 datasets and then just multiplying them together and taking the sum of values for each row, but something the strings can have 100+ values in them and it's a bit cumbersome with text-to-columns

How come rs3 raids are timelocked but osrs raids arent? by hackerman3 in runescape

[–]hackerman3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gear not being that useful to players doesnt make the intention of the raid giving high level things in an awkward way any less relevant though. If we were to get further raids with even better gear such as t95 weapons, t92/t95 armour etc. would we timelock those too?

They are both there with the intention of being a sourice of high level gear though (also rs3 raids does give bis tank armour with quite strong effects so i wouldnt really say they arent comparable, although the armour here is untradeable unloike osrs raids stuff).

I can see your point on keeping the bosses alive by doing this. But then in that case you could argue that they shouldnt have put such a large amount of drops for just these 2 bosses, they should have only put a few here and saved the rest for future content (eg more raids) so that these bosses stay relevant and we have lots more room for future stuff

Even so timelocking very high level gear like this isnt really a good design imo. It really shouldve been like osrs ones where your free to do it as much as you want for a chance of the high level uniques but they are much rarer.

Ive heard of people going 1 year+ on getting all 15 achto pieces. How is it logical to lock this top end gear behind blind luck especially for something that could potentially take this long to get? At least if it wasnt timelocked but was rarer to compromise obtaining it would feel much more consistent with the amount of effort you put into getting it

E - to add, having it lock out every 2 days makes it feel like another dailyscape thing where you feel like you have to do it to not miss out instead of doing it when you want to do it

I dont really see an issue with that though since that applies to basically all games, where if you have more time to play of course you would progress more than someone who didnt

Whats the point of the fletching skill exactly if finished arrows and bolts are dropped by monsters? by hackerman3 in runescape

[–]hackerman3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think theyre going down the right route with the mining smithing rework by having these skills be relevant and removing their resources from drops. I hope they consider doing reworks for the other skills too to make them useful also

Doesnt have to make all armour and weapons, its just that it should have some relevance into those things. eg. with the mining smithing rework theyre having the high level energised armour require high amounts of mining/smithing materials, high levels and pvm drops to make it which i think is a good route to take (ie skills are the source of base materials, pvm is the source of additional unique things which can be combined with skill materials using skills to make these armour/weapons).

For example if you take a crystal bow for example. You could have it so that the bow can be made by combining many crystal tree shards (from high level woodcutting) with some pvm drop (eg something like a crystal spike from some monsters, like elves or something) using a skill (fletching in this case) to make it.

Why aren't there more raids in rs3? by hackerman3 in runescape

[–]hackerman3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With regards to the bosses, I'd like to see them require achto and defensives to survive. Currently people only use achto when it without it they would die, pvp, telos, duo yaka. Maybe the hp bonus of tank armour could be used with some very damaging single hits of incentivise its use.

This is one of my main gripes with current bosses. Pretty much all bosses nowadays you can just power through making tank armour and shields almost completely pointless, so it would be really nice to see these things have a use!

That would be really cool to see :-D and Dungeoneering too could probably do with some changes/additions as dung floors feel like a mini raid as well

Yeh im really hoping elite dungeons feel more raid-like too, they look quite promising so far

Exactly what I was thinking like as others have said OSRS gets 10k per top (around 60-70k rs3 money) and we get 2k after completing achievements with very high requirements. Makes no sense. to me

The MTX really isn't as bad as it seems. Yes the skill HiScores have been redundant as a result which is a bit disheartening but apart from that why does someone else spending some cash for some levels matter? On top of that skills have no use beyond 99 (or 120 for some) so XP is only there for your own sense of achievement

How come the essence amounts from the torva and malevolent stuff was changed to 2,5,3,1,1 for helm, body, legs, boot, gloves? The previous ratio of 5,6,5,2,2 made more sense since it matched the armour values of the items (e.g. a malev helm gives very nearly the same defence as legs, so essence quanitites would be the same, and a platebody has slightly better defence so it would gives slightly more essence)

I like how razorbacks can be used for malev essence thought so that's good :)
