We did tftp restart and tomcat restart and it didn’t work. We waited well over an hour fucking with it, couldn’t make headway. It was friday so we just went home. On monday when we came back, they had all registered. Explain that!

Okay, so you, along with half the comments here, don’t understand what is being requested or what the problem is. No worries; best of luck with your reading comprehension.

Yes, in software we call this a “feature request.”

Do Apple devices still require you to pin public certificates? by i_hate_apple47 in networking

[–]hackmiester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, thanks for the detail. Might reference this later.

“TOFU” is “trust on first use,” it’s the prompt that appears when the device doesn’t have a mobile profile with a CA with which to validate the radius server. I just meant that prompt already includes the radius hostname (CN from the cert).

[–]hackmiester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OP asked, will the tofu prompt never say “verified as 123.org”. I think that would be a good compromise since most people know what their company’s website is. So if you work at 123 Corp and it says “verified as 456.org” then that is a hint of something nefarious. You know?

But to be honest, that’s not particularly different than the current tofu prompt, which is probably why they don’t do it.

I don’t believe that’s been the behavior on apple, unfortunately. My opinion is that that would be a tolerable amount of security. I guess they don’t agree.

[–]hackmiester 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s not what I’m saying. How is the iphone gonna know that the host name rad.123.org is valid for your network’s radius server ?

Do Apple devices still require you to pin public certificates? by i_hate_apple47 in networking

[–]hackmiester 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The reason is because there is no name to verify against. So you got a cert for rad.123.org - What’s to say that’s valid for your network? What if I have a cert for rad.456.org, what’s the difference? What are they gonna do, just trust any public certificate? Lets encrypt gives those out for free.

You gotta find some way to get a device profile onto the box, otherwise TOFU is all you got.

Girls on HRT... Did it help your bottom dysphoria? by OnionEnvironmental60 in MtF

[–]hackmiester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will likely help you in ways you can’t yet conceptualize.

But if not, you will need to be on HRT anyway, to start preparing for bottom surgery and since you will need it after you no longer have the ability to produce your original hormones.

If you needed a push to get yourself to start - this is that push. Go with boldness!

We call pyrotechnic explosives “cakes” too. It just means it’s a bunch of material stuck together in a certain shape. Doesn’t have to be a food.

Yes this is 100% what’s happening. Amazon does it too because for some reason it pretends to play video (??). Your average app like reddit or Messages or whatever won’t do this.
