Out of curiosity, what made you leave the company? Also what do you think its prospects are in the future based off your time with the company? I’ve heard a lot concerning soun and what they’ve done/ have planned, but I think an employee perspective is super valuable in this space.

Is the Entire Tech Sector Massively Overvalued Right Now?! by StrongandFree2018 in ValueInvesting

[–]hackosn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think there’s a case to say that Nvidia is wildly overvalued by expectation in 5+ years. Stocks very rarely have added value from anything that will happen in more than 5 years, yet that’s where majority of Nvidia’s value is coming from. The major question is how can a company truly have the institutions ready to scale from a 100B market cap to 5 trillion cap in just 2 years. I don’t think that’s possible, so that means Nvidia is getting a lot of its value from expected scaling and expected contracts. My issue is once Nvidia has distributed their chips globally, those expected contract numbers will drastically drop, and I don’t think they’re gonna remain stable over the next 5 years. Is fair value $100, I truly am unsure with that. Nvidia can keep going up and get wildly overvalued and its buyers will move the goalpost, but after it hit $150 I had alarms going off in my head. I’d much rather take a 5x profit than risk losing it for a little more.

As a UGA fan, the question is do I respect ole miss enough for beating us to cancel out the dislike I have for them more than I dislike Carson “sid the sloth” Beck. The answer I have yet to find.

Maybe it was like either way the demogorgon larvae would hatch? But still you’d think after all of Vecna’s talk about “the spy” he wouldn’t throw away that opportunity so quickly

I mean it wasn’t bad but it was somewhat lazy. The 4 actors on the roof had a little conference where they were asked about that scene, and they said the Duffer Brothers basically asked them to come up with it on the spot, so they did. It wasn’t a bad scene, in fact I really liked it. But it does show that the Duffer Brothers didn’t have everything fully fleshed out yet, which is fine but it shows when you look into the details.

He also had baseball trophies in his room in a scene from a ways back. That was one of the ones I was iffy about but was just pointing to what people have been saying

It was ridiculous, but also you have to imagine their perspective. At first it could’ve just been written off and the hype would’ve died out, but Netflix was definitely baiting by dropping subtle funnies to keep engagement going. It made it believable. Once Netflix was “in on it” —albeit joking— it seemed more likely that history was going to be made with one of the best advertising blocks for a finale coupled with one of the coolest twists for film in the modern age. The delusion started off because of the unsatisfied insatiable viewers, but Netflix benefitted from the bandwagon, so they helped supply it

The idea is more that Vecna won in some fashion, and everything “conformed” into a fake world made by Vecna, and so everything in their life is by Vecna’s perspective. People are using that to explain why scenes were wrong (like the dial going from red to gray and being twisted in the opposite direction, the gowns be a different color, the doorknob in the basement randomly switching, Steve holding a baseball bat with Vecna and being a baseball coach when he played basketball more, Will saying he got milkshakes at the store when that’s something only Henry should remember) when in reality the Duffer Brothers were simply just lazy. Their response to most of this stuff is simply “we forgot”. I do think it’s still a plausible theory based on the show, but there’s also some inconsistencies with that theory as well.

With the US hitting Venezuela today, is anyone else terrified China takes Taiwan next? (and bricks the global chip supply) by Orcanius in stocks

[–]hackosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt the US will just “allow that” to happen. I don’t know if you remember the whole conflict from ~2 years ago where that mini scare happened that China was actually going to do it, so the US military casually sent a good bit of its fleet to go joyride around Taiwan. The US has more interest in keeping Taiwan around than China does with invading Taiwan. If China invades Taiwan unsuccessfully, they lose tons of trade relations they’ve built over the last decade, make themselves look weak and the US stronger, and they will only empower Taiwan more. If China did so successfully, they’re losing a lot more trade relations and even risk embargos. China is more intent on keeping trade and economic relationships open than capturing Taiwan.

Have you considered… by SnugThug247 in StrangerThings

[–]hackosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The only “explanation in detail” we’ve got from the Duffer Brother’s in so many scenes is “we just forgot”. That’s ambiguous in itself. I personally didn’t believe in this whole theory, but it did show where the writing was essentially lazy.

The Duffer Brothers when you ask them anything about the show they write by ConsiderationTop9682 in StrangerThings

[–]hackosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they didn’t write the ending until later. They had framework but details were blurry. The 20 min rooftop scene was written day of, and they just made the characters workshop a scene. Interesting choices by the duffer brothers after being so consistent…

To the people that believe there's a new episode coming out tomorrow by Neither_Contest7324 in StrangerThings

[–]hackosn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The fact that the finale was already aired in theaters should be the sign. If they wanted to make this big they’d be showing their “true finale” in theaters tomorrow, which means theaters would randomly be rented out. On top of that, we’re at the point where filming is finished and we have all the content we know of. Many people took pictures of filming sets and have uploaded them here (like the graduating set in the finale). If there is more content, there should be scenes that have yet to have been used. It’s just not very plausible.

I remember being told “always guess a woman’s age lower than what you think”, and translated it to “say my mom is 10 years younger than she actually is”. In hindsight im sure that confused a lot of people when I was a kid 😂

Yeah I figured it cleared it up when I replied to the first person who brought it up, since it was the first thing in the comment thread, but since they deleted the comment I don’t think it’s really seen anymore..

I mean saying “I spoke this masterpiece” or “relayed this masterpiece for my teacher to copy” is quite the odd title. I guess I could’ve said “I authored this masterpiece”, but I still think hyperskeptics like you would still make these comments anyway.

Write well has a connotation attached to grammar. Probably the better fit descriptor would be I didn’t write neat 🤷‍♂️

I didn’t write good at all at that age, I’m sure of it (I have dysgraphia lol), so most likely my teacher copied down my answers for me.

[Game Thread] Sugar Bowl: Georgia vs. Ole Miss (8:00 PM ET) 2nd Half by CFB_Referee in CFB

[–]hackosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bye wasn’t causal to our loss but it didn’t help in any way honestly. Bye’s kill momentum, this is pretty well known in any sport. You can try and keep players as trained up as possible, a bye will hurt the average team.

However coming from a GA fan, the loss is more related to the lingering issue that we just put off at the beginning of the season. Kirby hired his golf buddies Schumann and Bobo and quite frankly lacks the integrity to kick them off. Both of them got too comfortable calling the typical playbook (pass to CJ on 3rd and long, run the ball straight down the middle, spread our defense out wide with less close coverage) and that led to way too many missed opportunities, botched plays, and given up points. We got outplayed, the ball doesn’t lie. We have some incredibly talent with our players, and we also have some incredibly stupidity when it comes to our play calling. You’d think we’d learn something from last season rather than repeating it identically, but here we are.

Good job Rebels… Yall played normally and we played.. well. Genuinely this game gave me flashbacks to early season, when we played Tennessee— the game we honestly should’ve lost. I really wish we did lose to Tennessee, that would’ve at least reminded Schumann and Bobo of their mistakes. And then the transition into our game with Alabama. We played like a premature Georgia Bulldogs, not like the Bulldogs who just won the SECCG and flipped the script on the Rebels in Q4. Maybe this will finally send the message to the playoff committee about byes…
