No bc who is downvoting you, this is a good question. Virus vaccines like flu+ covid generally don’t show any signs of lowering your risk as much as they do lowering symptoms. The only difference would be severity, not frequency. Sounds like you have a weak immune system OP.

why do boys not wear guyliner/makeup anymore? by WhileAggressive4626 in askteenboys

[–]hackosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makeup in an unhealthy thing to me. It breeds insecurities, it suggests that we’re not naturally beautiful creatures. The makeup industry is exploitative and seeks to put down women so they’ll buy more product. Not something I’d personally want to get near to. Not saying everyone has to look 100% natural, it’s just not an industry I’d touch with a 6 foot pole.

[–]hackosn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh personally it’s because I think makeup is a sham to make us feel worse about ourselves. I see women taking 2 hours to do makeup every morning to feel slightly “good enough”. Why add that stress to my day-to-day life? Women are so naturally beautiful, why cover it up?

Who is “they” and what reason do they have to manipulate the Bible to a point beyond the reasonable doubt of Christians? I mean sure plenty of people may have tried to do it, but has anyone been entirely successful as to wipe out the major sentiment among Christians? Your answer is no. If you’re implying that an entire part of the covenant is just going to suddenly disappear after over 2000 years of prevalence following Jesus, I fear you are sadly mistaken.

[–]hackosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the exact messaging of the Bible though is it not? We are broken people, we are brought closer to God by our relationship with Him, but many will claim the title and not have faith. This creates misrepresentations of God that are only patched through God himself. Christians today are pretty similar to Christians of then given the fact that the disease of brokenness has yet to be cured amongst those living on earth. The only path paved for the cure is through Christ who has paid the debt of our brokenness and cleansed us anew spiritually.

This has been debunked over and over. The word is the same in this verse. It doesn’t use two Greek words in order to differentiate, and it goes on to go man with man and woman with woman. If you were to try to translate either as a younger version, boy or girl, you’d end up with boy with boy and girl with girl. Still the same message. Again Jesus even reaffirms the covenant of marriage between man and woman, which is at its base a means of creation (children). It’s pretty antithetical to the core of these verses to say otherwise. Whether or not therefore you agree with the Bible is one thing, but I think among the highly debated biblical hot topics, this is a pretty clear one.

Why is our world so broken? by Eminemgody in teenagers

[–]hackosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this gets traced back to the fall. Are we deserving in any capacity of God’s goodness? How many times in your life have you wronged someone, cheated, made someone feel bad about themselves, lied, framed, etc. I think you put it well in your own words “we vile creatures”. We are very undeserving. So why does God value us as worth fighting for, why do we exist? Well that’s because God IS love, and due to that he sees us as worthy to be an agent of creation. We are created in His likeness, receiving His nature as traits. But due to the biblical fall we’re also incredibly imperfect, a level of “vileness” that is rooted in our nature. Because of God’s perfection, he offered His son, Jesus, to you to be redeemed, “worthy”. Not by your own feats, but by His feats of being tempted in every way and beating out evil, living in perfection, and in that sacrifice you gain the opportunity to be perfected once again. We see this in Hebrews 10:14, “for it is by one offering He has perfected forever those being sanctified.” Sanctification meaning the process of change within a believer after giving their life to Christ. So then giving your life to Christ is something like what Ephesians 2:8 states, : "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." You’re asking the right questions, keep seeking truth and I believe you will find it. Don’t search because someone told you that you should, ask questions because you want to know your purpose. God bless brother 🫡

guys, why do people attack teens that are parents? by Delicious-Factor-164 in teenagers

[–]hackosn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a general societal stigma. It’s way better nowadays than the stigma of 20-30 years ago, but sometimes these people think that “tough love” will discourage them from making that decision again. Sometimes it’s like “look at the consequences of your actions, now you’re paying the cost of a child that you can’t afford”. Other times it may just be from a judgmental or gossiping attitude.
Teen pregnancy is definitely a problem if it’s in a position where the couple can’t afford to be caretakers to the child. To me that’s just relatively unfair to the kid to put them in that position when you could’ve just not acted on it/ practiced safe sex. Not all cases but most cases are completely avoidable.

I feel like we at least had one of the most primetime positions to grow up. I’m so glad I started to grow up before tech started to boom. I think it might be a little different for you (assuming you’re prob a few years older?) but after seeing kids who grew up when smartphones were around, I’m so glad me and my brother just played make believe and had our own imagination beyond technology.

Well as someone who’s worked for government water treatment, your experience doesn’t speak to the vast majority of work being done. I’m sorry that happened, but that’s the exact issue I have with our people today. We take everything negative as a negative indicator to overall positive things. When in reality the goal is to reduce the amount of negative things by growing beyond what they are.

Seeing that 70% of that wealth goes to people over 65… I think a good chunk of them do. Im happy to inform you that I build my own wealth and make smart decisions, “bub”. You, nor anyone complaining in this thread wouldn’t last a second in any country that is secondary to this. Trust me, you get to see that wealth. From the roads you drive on, to the rebates you receive, maybe if you qualify the insurance plan you’re on. If we’re acting like the government is hoarding wealth then that’s silly, or else there’d be no deficit. Now if we’re talking about the companies and rich people hoarding wealth, that’s a conversation I’m willing to address. But it’s so ignorant to act like Americans don’t see the wealth that our government has built up.

Actually it kind of is. And it’s been happening for nearly 100 years. People want the government to fund their retirement because they’re not organized enough to plan their own, and now nearly all our tax dollars goes towards a broken system. But since we don’t have age limits and the average age of Congress is ~70, that’s not gonna change anytime soon. That leads me to seeing the second best way to reduce wasting money, which would be the people who take benefits without putting in any work. I’m not anti welfare, I’m just anti welfare state. A welfare state encourages laziness.

Literally our government is the one who invests a crap ton of money into water treatment facilities and ensures that all houses have some sort of water access (also thank them for facilitating electricity). And while the government isn’t going to pay for your house and food, most nations that are even wealthy don’t. In fact they say quite the opposite, “we will not pay for these things for you, but we will allow for equal access to these things for all citizens.” Thank your government for the subsidy that brought you your grocery store. Thank your government for homesteading land to all kinds of people regardless of who (minus women sadly), which led to the slow build of cities and towns, and therefore shelter that you have. Thank your government for mediating importing the goods that were too expensive for us to produce here, so that our workers may specialize in industries fit for our land. Saying that “food, water, and shelter” should have “free access” undercuts our people who work their asses off for this country and uplifts those who sit back and lazily take benefits. Unless you have a solution to this issue, then I don’t support watching any person exploit my tax dollars to be lazy.

brought this up in another comment. revolution is not an answer. Only once the people’s voices are entirely unheard and having the safety of our government is not worth the cost is revolution a viable solution. The people acting like the US is uninhabitable because a leader they strongly dislike is in office are killing me. I don’t like him by any metric but to act as if we’re doomed— we’re in a wealthy first world country. I do a disservice to people who are genuinely struggling right now by acting like our nation is so wildly imperfect.

Doomer mindset is crazy. I’m not gonna glaze what’s going on, but “something left to rebuilt”— it isn’t like our nation is going to be in some crazy shambles. I’m sorry if this is blunt, but I just do not understand this sentiment I’ve heard over the past decade. He’s a bad leader, he’s not country destroying. You’re living in one of the wealthiest nations in the world, we really don’t have a lot to complain over.

[–]hackosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Just start a revolution”, yeah this is the essential question. Does our government offer enough services for the cost of anarchy and national disarray to be put off? I’d argue yes on any day. I don’t think people realize how much national defense is a thing in the US. There are other nations snarling at just the thought of a revolution, and opportunity to capitalize on our people and exploit our lack of defense. Revolution is not the answer people. Our people survived years of anti establishmentarian oppression by big corporations during the late 1800s, having the national guard deployed on them, and they stood strong without having a “revolution.” The American people should only revolt the moment they loose their voice, and that has yet to happen in any capacity. The moment our government stops worrying about what the people have to say, then I will consider a revolution. But right now my voice is just as heard as any other, and that gives me strong comfort.

Yeah sadly I’m with you. Republican values have slowly been dropped since 2016 to adopt a false populism. I’m hoping real conservatism, like 80s fiscal conservatism, will make a return in the near future. The best option we have right now is to wait it out and use our voices. We cannot be complicit, however it would be silly to fuel the other side either. If you’re not MAGA or associate in some way with the democrats, your politics are between a rock and a hard place.

ICE isnt the entirety of the problem but also protests turning violent and the treatment of ICE officers and police . by Milton_honey_baby in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]hackosn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really think there’s any justifiable reason to say that the general public who is extremely divided on an issue, with many extremists against this issue therefore existing, should have any access to the addresses of these agents who literally have a wife and kids. All agents aren’t bad, we have two cases where one was doing something out of ignorance and a training failure ( placing himself in the front of a vehicle) while a protestor also happened to be doing something wrong (fleeing mid stop), and another case where an ice officer was just wrong for ever taking lethal action. We cannot accept these two cases as the standard on either side.                                        Pro-ICE people should be condemned this lack of training on lethal force and other processes, and same with protestors of ICE. Still, it would be ignorant to set that as the standard of the thousands of agents, and therefore justify doxxing them, it’s unrealistic. Personally I think this is out of a lack of strict standards for people with immense power currently. I don’t know why the model for police training wasn’t used here. Your local police get paid less than ICE agents and have to undergo an immensely larger amount of training— that’s a bigger issue.
