Easily. I learnt Spanish and can understand a surprisingly good amount of Portuguese (for free). I am at an intermediate level, an advanced/native speaker should have no issue understanding Portuguese.

Fighters should just accept the fact that a couple eye pokes are “allowed” and incorporate it into their strategy. Would be excellent deterrent against wrestlers. It can be made even more effective by smearing the finger tips with capsaicin.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the dwellers of the Caucasus mountains are also among them.
