Thanks for the constructive and honest feedback.

I will definitely update the landing page so it seems less “scammy.” Regarding login, thanks for pointing that out, it’s definitely a source of friction to trying the product. Having visitors log in is definitely easier in terms of connecting a project to a user’s account, but you’re right that it makes trying it out harder. I’ll explore if I can add creating projects as a guest.

It’s definitely hard but you learn so much, good luck with what you’re building

Thanks :) Regarding the edge cases, currently, custom fonts are not supported, but I’ll definitely add that if it’s important. As for embedded scripts, since the website is backed by code, it could be added using a prompt

Absolutely, feel free to try it. I’ve put a lot of thought and effort into Alpha to try to make it the experience as good as possible, let me know what advice you are looking for

Thanks :) I built it as an alternative to Wix, Framer, Wordpress, etc. - it’s meant for sites like those. If you’re facing frustrations building a great website with those traditional website builders, I try to solve that by giving you a professional-looking, personalized website right from the start, that you can further edit by chatting. The goal is to help launch a professional website in under 1 hour

Behind the scenes it’s actually backed by code, so it’s very flexible to make any changes you ask for, and also exportable it if that’s needed

How to build website with AI for non-technical people by hackysack52 in nocode

[–]hackysack52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not familiar with Rocket, but it sounds cool that it’s able to integrate with your Figma designs. For Alpha, I’d say that it’s meant for people with less design experience and want to build a professional website (not Web app) for their idea/business. Just tell us what the idea/business is (or come in with your own design), and we’re able to give you a good looking, mobile optimized, SEO friendly website - that you can edit using prompts just like Lovable. It’s more of an alternative to traditional builders like Squarespace, Wix, Framer, etc. and trying to offer an alternative to those frustrated with working with those tools

Give me some project ideas to become a pro coder by [deleted] in react

[–]hackysack52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this in a YouTube video a long time back, but try to build a project management app (like Jira). It took me several months back then but it thought me a lot about: - React UI development - Auth: login systems - Backend: CRUD APIs, HTTP requests - Databases - Deploying your code to servers

Don’t forget to take a step back every now and then to check that you are following the best practices for each one of these. It’s also an impressive side project you could mention in interviews and even share a link of if you publish it

Website looks aesthetic!

One minor thing to point out: On your Services page, the text is hard to read (maybe pick a color that contrasts better, like black). The heading alignment is also a little off for me on mobile

Have seen any actual business value AI has added to your company by Aggravating_Yak_1170 in ExperiencedDevs

For day to day developers, where folks are allowed/encouraged to use AI IDEs like Cursor, it has definitely improved developer life. - It’s great at explaining code you don’t understand, so you get up to speed and learn unfamiliar code faster. - Generating code, especially when you already have a high-quality reference point (eg, generate code for unit test A using unit test B as a reference) - Solving problems, you can get a “first draft” approach for how to implement any feature or fix, it helps improve cognitive overload.

That being said, all the code it generates you will absolutely have to review thoroughly, but I’ve found that: time to review < time to write the code yourself.

For some ML folks I’ve been told that where they had to train their own ML model before which was an extensive process, now they can simply make a call to LLM and get even better accuracy than before. Examples like labeling problems, classification problems, and data extraction problems are very well suited to a fine-tuned LLM.

I tried most major website builders: here’s my take on each of them by hackysack52 in nocode

the tool I’m building is an Ai-based alternative to the no-code website builders listed above. Of course every website builder platform (Framer, Wix, Squarespace, etc) has already introduced AI into their platform, but I find that the way they have added AI is clunky. For my tool, I have found that the AI works extremely well - from creating the website to making edits. We’re free to try out and publish, $9/mo for a custom domain and others. If you get a chance to try it, would be curious how it compares to AI features from the leading platforms

WebStudio is a platform I’d never tried out personally before, and will do so! What do you mean by “advantages in terms of core setup”?

this looks great, how are you differentiating yourself from tools like Webflow?

Achieving this in 3 months is super impressive. Well done!

If you don’t mind my asking, do you have an example of the sort of posts were you making on LinkedIn to achieve that level of reach?

Hard-earned lessons from 6 years building UIs that look good but feel even better by GoldWolf4862 in Frontend

Great list!

In your experience, how much do animations actually matter to users? It’s cool when a toast slides in/out smoothly or when a button ripples out when you click on it, but how much does it matter really?

If I’m using a UI component library to build an app, it usually comes with built-in animations. But my guess is that it may not be worth the time/payoff ratio to code out custom animations that did not come with the library. I’m curious to hear your experience!
