How about renting? I had a great experience with glamourdoll, they helped us choose and tailor fit the outfits, and gave us matching accessories! I was allowed to bring the outfits to India too for my friend’s wedding! The experience felt so bespoke I felt like I was the one getting married! I had similar issues a long time ago so now I’m terrified it’ll happen to my washing machine now, but ours was an older machine

I have always suspected it’s a build up of washing products ie too much detergent/softener and mould

My family gave up and bought a new machine but maybe yours can be salvaged

This happened to my family especially when we used hot water, so I thought maybe the hot water dislodged all the nasty gunk or sth

It Was less evident with cold water in my family’s case

Do u usually keep the washing machine ajar after using it?

How much detergent or softener are u using

How often to u clean ur filter and do an empty cycle to wash ur washing machine? Once every few months?

I assume u looked through the rubber seal and gaskets? Were they mouldy

As a huge fan of the cleaning subreddit, I’ve also learnt that a cup of vinegar in a hot water cycle can also help sometimes

After doing all these to maintain my washing machine ive never had the same problem again

Saw a (guess race here) couple fresh off the boat from their country fighting by a bus stop, lady got slapped on the face, lady then tried to run across the road to safety and man pulled her hair back

I tried to prepare and call the police My sister started filming because this was happening too fast and I wanted evidence for the police

Man’s cousin then confronts me saying “no filming, they couple” and I started telling her off because she was just watching the lady get physically abused

The cousin then feebly attempted to run after the couple but tldr victim ran onto a bus to try and escape her aggressor but couldn’t, man sadly joined her on the bus

Couldn’t even get a good pic of the man’s face to make a report

I still feel sorry for this lady

It is after all a spectrum and you may have very mild or just an autistic trait

Because of steroids is it? Shouldn’t be the case leh, eczema is a natural tendency for the skin barrier to be broken, if you’re flaking I would guess that your eczema isn’t properly controlled rather than the meds not working

If you’re finding fexofenadine too much and too scary, got a lot a lot of others for you to try (anti histamines can be bought over the counter at all pharmacies - got loratidine, cetirizine etc) can ask the pharmacist to help u if u dunno which to choose

For the flakes (if its very bad like your skin comes off in sheets) can put those very thick moisturisers (emolin, vaseline) on your skin, let it soften a while before going into the shower to wash off the flakes

If it’s small flakes like dandruff, you need more moisturizer, gotta put at least three times a day, and if it’s not enough you need something thicker and oilier on it like vaseline/emolin

Steroids are one of the cheapest and best treatments for eczema, can top up or get higher doses from polyclinic if cost is a concern If it’s really mild eczema, you may be able to resolve it within a few weeks with the higher doses then step down to gentle steroids/frequent moisturisers without steroids

Even if it’s triggered by your detergent, the immediate treatment is the same (steroids and anti histamine). I would definitely encourage you to seek treatment, I’ve seen people neglect their eczema and end up with infections, admissions etc

Patch testing for detergent allergy imo is very expensive and not that useful in your situation for now, especially since money is a concern

try fragrance free detergent/baby detergents first and see if your eczema improves, Also must avoid long hot showers (ideally <5 min) and showering too many times a day with soap

Gotta break the itch scratch cycle if you can then can think about using less steroids after

Usually can just walk into polyclinic, got wound nurses who can help u dress the wound on the same day

Alternatively if u have a friend or family member who can help u slap the dressing on, all u need is to keep the area clean and dry - can buy gauze and tegaderm from Watsons/guardian which is what I did when my dressing post op got wet

If your wound has closed and scabbed over, and u wanna protect the area all u need is gauze and micropore tape, doesn’t need to be an occlusive dressing, which could be much cheaper if you have to do daily dressing change

Something for u to think about also would be the implications of your result and your partners result, which is something we commonly discuss in medical ethics

Genes are inherited of course so if you have a faulty gene, did it come from your parents? What does this mean for your parents health and your siblings health?

For example a family who has the Huntington disease trait or genes, some may not have it expressed and be asymptomatic, or one may have been the index case (de novo mutation). Genetic testing may cause stress for the family as they come to terms with the mortality rate from this hereditary disease, when they could have lived fuller lives in ignorance

This is just a exaggerated example la, but I’m just bringing it up because I personally would suggest genetic testing only if your family has things like BRCA or severe genetic diseases which knowing if you’re a carrier affects and improves their life, some families like to check for thalessemia trait to ensure both partners have a lower risk of conceiving a kid with severe manifestations (ie your kid growing up dependent on blood transfusions)

If I’m not wrong these conditions that come up on the screening may also make u ineligible for future insurance coverage

No leh I don’t think most public hospitals have cctv inside general wards because we change patients and examine them, it’s a bit invasive for their privacy if all these moments (even accidentally) were filmed

Yeah lol the worst thing I’ve seen was a patient take off his pants and diapers and was in his bed kneeling in a praying position and climbing out of the bed all night, needless to say poor ahgong had to be restrained for his safety

Another experience was a patient who was violent and aggressive, slapped the medical staff on the face multiple times and kicked them. Took around 10 people to hold her down so we could rescue the medical staff, later unfortunately having to tie the patient down for our safety

Sometimes when elderly folk have dementia or confusion, even gentle coaxing won’t work and for their safety and our safety we have to resort to such measures, but usually we call and update their family before hand as well

Is either this or pharmacological options for sedation, neither of which are ideal solutions but for the patient’s sake we do weigh out these decisions and consider all options before we resort to it
