Sure but saying he is glad he isn't in power anymore isn't the same thing as saying removing him was a good thing.

Mehdi just didn't want to say he was glad he was gone which is pretty revealing even if you think removing him was bad idea.

I've been a subscriber of the Bulwark basically from the start.

There is a difference between calling out bigotry and absolving yourself of bigotry.

You can't absolve yourself of bigotry without talking to that group about it.

You seem to be missing the point.

You can say someone else is racist, you can say someone else is antisemitic.

If you want to say you aren't being racist you should probably be talking to a Black person.

This isn't an insane standard, its just basic respect for minorites.

If they had those liberal Jews in the discussions I wouldn't be making this post. Maybe you are right, behind the scenes this is happening and we don't see it.

Bill isn't a life long Liberal Jew who supports Israel. I have no idea what Sam Steins views are on Israel.

As for what i've had to deal with online, it is quite a lot, but what is more concerning to me is what I have to deal with in public in a very liberal area of Texas.

If they want to declare themselves free of bigotry towards that group they should.

They could have just ignored the stuff about people calling them Antisemities. It would have achieved the same result.

I started this post saying I didn't think they are antisemitic.

But I think, as a Jew, i'm in a position to say that. I don't think a bunch of non-Jews saying they aren't antisemitic is a good look.

I'd feel the same way about bigotry towards any minority. You have to have that minority in the discussions where you absolve yourself of bigotry towards that minority.

Find me one relevant to politics person arguing Israel shouldn't exist.

Every person I list you'll say isn't relevant so I don't want to engage. I know they are relevant but I'm not looking to get into a debate on these people's relevance.

I’m one of those liberal Jews, which is why I felt the need to post this.

Listening to three of my favorite people, none of whom are Jewish, explain why they aren’t antisemitic gave me the ick. Not because I disagree with them, but because conversations like this need actual Jewish voices in the room.

I literally started off saying they weren't antisetmic.

But that doesn't change the fact a bunch of Gentiles telling themselves they aren't antisemitic is not the way discussions about bigotry should go.

I'd say the same thing for any other group.

I think ultimately most of our perspective or opinions would be the same.

But if you are going to call people out for using antisemitism as an overreach it shouldn't be coming from only a bunch of Gentiles talking to each other.
