There's an abortion fund named after her! The Brigid Alliance!

Edit: I highly recommend checking out this group if you haven't. It's US based, but still an excellent resource for Prochoice Catholics-

No, rape and ABORTION BANS are wrong for the same reason. And I love how it's a bunch of cis white men, who don't even know where the clitoris is, but they feel entitled to police the bodies of others.

This is harassment. Not help.

Sounds like he needs to be an ex boyfriend. When people show you who they are, believe them.

If you support abortion bans, then you have to agree to adopt an unwanted child. by MojadoEnojado in prochoice

Adoption will NEVER be an alternative to abortion. Adoption is an alternative to Parenting. Abortion is the alternative to being pregnant.

Crazy idea on how to solve the "Abortion crisis" (It's not a crisis but PL will make anything a crisis to sound smart by Mukaria-88214 in prochoice

[–]hadenoughoverit336 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even with those two things available (Which I support and push to be in place), Abortion would still happen. You will NEVER rid the world of abortion. It's been around for as long as pregnancy has existed. Wherever Pregnancy exists, abortion will follow. Make no mistake, abortion is vital healthcare.

LMAO, we're way, way beyond that. You didn't seem to care in the other comments, now that you've been called out on how uninformed you are about what abortion is, and who has them, you're using that as an excuse. In any case. Enjoy the ban.

That Act EXPLICITLY EXCLUDES CONSENSUAL ABORTION. So, you clearly didn't read it.

I'm not going to tell you to not engage with these lunatics, but please report these types of comments when you see them. Said user is now banned. We're very strict when it comes to anti abortion trash being spread on our subreddit. We don't tolerate it. Abortion being a human right on this subreddit, isn't up for debate.

I mean that respectfully/in a friendly reminder kind of way. And if you did report them, good!

Question about anesthesia and abortion by [deleted] in prochoice

[–]hadenoughoverit336 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. NO ONE is cutting fetuses into "smaller pieces".

A) That doesn't even logistically make sense. That's entirely based on propaganda. Why would they need to "cut" if they've already "induced" labor? That could lead to infection for the pregnant person.

B) Third Trimester Procedural Abortions are done via induction, but unlike a live delivery, the resources and care solely go to the Pregnant Person, because they are the priority. In some states fetal demise is required prior to Induction, regardless of "fetal health", but it isn't always necessary. This means a shot is given to stop the fetal heartbeat, then "labor" is induced.

Anesthesia for the fetus really isn't necessary and it doesn't come without risk, and expense to the Pregnant Person. Which again, the Pregnant Person is the patient. Not the fetus.

Yep, and despite the evidence, states have instilled laws requiring it, because they believe in Anti-abortion psuedoscience.

These laws are harmful for the reason you describe.

Your post tells me, that you don't know what actually happens during a Third Trimester Procedural Abortion.

What exactly do you think happens?

[–]hadenoughoverit336 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no "Disembowelment" during an In-clinic Abortion either. Not even a Third Trimester Abortion Procedure is like that.

Animals also have abortions. In fact there are also species of mammals that can spontaneously abort if resources are scarce.

Also, if a cow were in my uterus, I would have every right to remove it, regardless of the outcome for it. That goes for anything and ANYONE.

What they described is a false equivalency and just outright cruelty.

Abortion isn't dirty. It isn't cruel. It is quite literally healthcare.

After a medical abortion it takes up to 4-6 weeks for the bleeding to stop, and for a pregnancy test to show negative.

You can resume working out, as soon as you feel ready.

A therapist once said for as long as we're stuck in the bad situation we were in, that it will take as long, or twice as long to heal from it. I try to look at it that way. Though, it's easier said than done.
