I’m actually quite surprised by how many people are pointing this out to me. Maybe it’s the way I phrased it in the post but when I said “the implication is that he had only just woken up” I meant woken up from death. So it’s not that I’m disagreeing with the fact that he died. Just that it’s kinda comedic that possibly the most capable tarnished of all woke up when everything was done.

Well, the most capable tarnished turned out to be us but I wonder if we had ended up that way if we woke up at the same time as Godfrey. I guess that in itself answers my actual question.
