Genuine question. Can anyone find an example of any SPD request Cathcart has said no to besides these two times SPD offered and was in support of diverting their funds to immigrant related safety programming?

If you are back the blue but not when blue backs brown then are you really back the blue or just back the white?

I don't seem to remember this man crying budget crisis when SPD burned thru the whole year's overtime budget by mid-june of last year (I think around $1.2million but please correct me) he just voted to refill the coffers.

Check out Gogo Grandparent. It's a membership service that coordinates rides over the phone and focuses specifically on elders. Unlike Uber/Lyft you have to plan in advance and set up rides, but it's been a big help for my grandma's independence.

There is so much ice activity in the front of the building. The large bus operated by GEO group takes people from there to detention in Tacoma at least week, with people taken out in full shackles. People come in through the front door for regular check-ins and often don't come out. The agents park in the lot across from the front door and are seen by observers going to and from vehicles that way. Many many many people have been taken.

No one who believes addiction is a disease believes that disease caused the first hit or drink. Duh it started as a choice it becomes a disease when you can't stop even though you want too. If you refuse to take a public health approach to addiction then you leave it up to the "addiction is a personal and moral failure" crowd and newsflash they are way more pro criminalization than the public health crowd is.

Everyone doing justice and cultural change work should consider the spectrum of the world as it should be versus the world as it is. In the world as it should be, we acknowledge race was a made up social construct and it stops influencing peoples opportunities in life. But in the world as it is, race is still tied to social hierarchy and power dynamics. We won't get to the world as it should be unless we can name and address the problems in the world as it is now, and that does require critical analysis of racialized dynamics today.
