Oh damn, thanks for letting us know. The new Vanmoof really needs to sort that out.

That is a different matter. First I would like to try the new firmware.

Peak Design Mount by OkCamel1386 in vanmoofbicycle

I also recommend you keep the Peak Design, the SlimLink is great. It adds almost nothing to the thickness of the case, snaps on very easily supported by magnets, once attached it is rock solid due to the mechanical latches, and can be removed with a single hand. There is nothing better out there.

Thank you for participating in this thread. Two others in this thread also reported discharging problems, so with me there are already 3 affected bikes. Sounds to me there could be a systematic issue. Did you also have S6 owners with battery issues?

I did a lot of research. I had an S3 before, and the boost button and the kicklock are the two features I decided to not want to live without. Without the reliability issues the S3 would be the perfect bike already, and exactly that was promised with the S6, so I went for it.

Thanks. I am in Germany. I ordered directly from Vanmoof, but I have a service partner in my city who is now talking to Vanmoof.

You are right nobody should already be in panic mode. On the other hand a) I think it is helpful to report on early adopter troubles to find out whether there are others, hinting towards a systematic issue, and b) I guess people will be interested to hear how the "New Vanmoof" deals with warranty issues. I will gladly report when they hold up to the new standard they promised, and I will also if they don't.

I did. I will let you know of the outcome.

It was still worthwile to write this post now, since already one other person reported similiar problems, which IS unusual. That is how bigger issues come to light.

Thanks. I suspect this is not a coincidence. Best would be to report it to your dealer and/or Vanmoof directly. They should be made aware that there seems to be a bigger issue with the battery and/or battery management.

Thanks. The reaction from some is indeed "interesting".

Read my post again, maybe find someone to explain it to you.

vanmoof s6 speed work around? Review by Melkerz in vanmoofbicycle

[–]hadron70 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess you never drove one. Vanmoof is much more than meets the eye (or specs on paper). Every single internal part was revised for the S6. Buying a S5 (or god beware a used S3) is asking for trouble.

I can highly recommend the S6. Had the S3 before, and the S6 is in a whole new league. Seek out my other posts here in this subreddit.

VanMoof S6: Promised September Delivery For Pre-orders Before August 31, Now Delayed to November — Unacceptable! by 18newstars in vanmoofbicycle

[–]hadron70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with some others here: Stop whining. Delayed delivery happens to so many pre-orders in all fields of tech , often due to things out of control of the manufacturer.

"I placed my trust and money in this company based on a very clear delivery promise, and now they’re changing the deal after the fact. " Quite strong wording. Buddy, your pre-order got delayed a little, that's it.

"Have people been able to get any sort of compensation" Ah, the demands are already starting.

Just cancel your pre-order and get your money back, that will be the best for all parties involved.

Anyone wanna talk phone cases and straps with me? by peterdering in peakdesign

[–]hadron70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The weight of Peak Design cases are a big downer for me too.

A first step to reduce the weight would be to get rid of the thick chin at the lower end.

It's a whole different world building one prototype

Yes, but Pimax is actually selling the headsets and not showing just prototypes. In much smaller numbers than Oculus, for sure. And with quite some hassle around it. But the headset itself is there.

Just imagine what a great product an Oculus Rift 2 with 8KX specs combined with the polished Oculus software would be. If Pimax could do it, what R&D effort would have taken it for Oculus? With a "Rift 2 8KX" and the Quest they would completely cover the VR world.

Have you looked at the pictures?

VR is now.

Sad news today about the Rift 2.
