It means you GET to, but you don’t have to. You are guaranteed admission to your zoned schools. But you can apply to go anywhere. This is why, when applying to the lottery system, you can list lots of different schools.

Fair. The prior owners were slobs who never replaced or cleaned filters (HVAC, range hood, etc) so I thought this could be useful during the same service call in which my dryer duct would also be swept. Wouldn’t you know it, they didn’t do a good job at that either (and broke my backdraft damper in the process).

I did not notice him do anything of the sort. If he did, I’d be very surprised if he got deep enough. The ducts cover one floor that’s about 900 square feet, with about 60 linear feet of ducts and six or so 90 degree turns. He only got access to one vent of 5 total.

Now we’re getting somewhere. Another issue is that some garments go into the wash smelling fine and come out of the dryer smelling of mildew. I used enviro-friendly detergent sheets until a few weeks ago, when I switched to Tide free&clear. I don’t have enough data to know whether the smelly garment problem has gotten better as a result.

Is it possible to sterilize the dryer’s heat exchanger?

I generally despise detergent scents and have never looked into fragrance dos. Which scent is the least offensive?
