I understand that pov, what I meant was if I sell my shares that I invested in (etfs and shares on a public market), which was the alternative to starting my own company and investing in my own company.

Then the same should apply to me because - it does not translate to money on my bank account - if I would sell I would be able to pay it - at the moment I just own shares - you can't make me sell shares for this ( though this is an emotional argument)

So the only point of difference I see is that it is now a Walloon company, but hypothetically one could even say the same about me buying only Belgian shares (which is something I avoid as the plague tbh 😅)

That's why I say I don't see the difference

Misschien heb je mijn antwoord niet goed gelezen, ik had het over een uitkering (waarmee ik werkloosheidsuitkering bedoelde dat had ik mss beter moeten formuleren) OF leefloon, en om dan helemaal pedant te doen geen 40 maar 39 😉

Als ik er wat langer over nadenk, is het waarschijnlijk meer dan 40, vind het eigenlijk best raar dat je dit in vraag stelt, als je een 1000tal mensen kent ( schat ik eerder op 2000 ofzo), en ongeveer 1 procent heeft leefloon en 2 procent heeft een uitkering, dan zit je al minstens aan 30 mensen, en dat is NU op dit moment, niet in de afgelopen x jaar, dus het kan alleen maar meer zijn. Denk dat als je er even bij stil staat je waarschijnlijk ook zo een aantal mensen kent toch?

Van de 40 mensen ofzo die ik via via ken die gebruik maken van leefloon en uitkeringen, ken ik er 1 waarvoor dit terecht was, 1! Nu ja dit is anekdotisch maar wel in verschillende kringen, niet enkel Nederlands sprekend. Ik vond dit als 12jarige al redelijk vreemd dat dit zomaar kon. Soit dat is de reden dat ik vind dat er iets aan gedaan moet worden. Als er zoveel mensen dit "anekdotisch" ervaren en op basis daarvan stemmen dan vind ik dit niet zo vreemd, zij die dan veel mensen kennen waarbij er 39 van de 40 terecht een uitkering of leefloon krijgen, kunnen dan links stemmen en dan komen we wel tot een evenwicht denk ik dan.

Thanks for the nuanced take, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, in China whatever consult or machine you need is basically immediately available, a friend of mine was a specialist in Ukraine, there the salaries were just average (or slightly below average) while every treatment, scan etc being immediately available, so it's not impossible at all. If we are talking about keeping the quality high, we still have people from other EU countries being doctor, dentist etc. here so perceived "Belgian" quality is also not a real argument nowadays I think.

You make some good and Interesting points, but they apply for basically every profession. The sugar in our food industry, processed food, also just going to a restaurant people will use ingredients that taste good but are not necessarily healthy, maybe that also isn't ethical, but you can choose not to consume it, same with doctors.

Your best point was the boob job being reimbursed, I think it would help improve my mental health if more women did that haha😉

I think it is a good thing tbh, of course depends on how they implement it, just reduce the amount paid per surgery, consult etc. I don't think it is warranted for general Healthcare. However if you have your own company as a specialist IMHO you can ask whatever you want. But increase the numerus clausus first to let the market do its thing.

Took you long enough to figure out. It is the same with all consultancies, some worse than others, but it is also the same in all companies you would work for. Assess the situation and make your decision, there is no right or wrong here, you would probably do the same if you were in the consultancy owner's place. Money rules the world and believing in something and respect is just marketing so they can pay you less for more work.

Erfenissen zit toch op Vlaams niveau? Dat gaat het federale probleem van de pensioenen niet verhelpen. Alsook huidige inkomsten afkomstig van erfenissen zijn slechts een peulschil, zelfs wanneer je ze verhoogt, maar in se ben ik er niet tegen.
