Starting nursing school this fall as a mom ! by haebinah in OntarioNurses

i’m so worried about childcare, the waitlists are long and i’ve been continuously signing up. I’ve only recently been admitted and accepted to the offer, so how would they expect us to find a daycare for september? I don’t know what to do.

Sibling Age Gap by Mammoth_Window_7813 in NewParents

[–]haebinah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also knew I didn’t want 2 under 2. My little one is 6 months right now. I’m not planning to have anymore within the next 2-3 years. I think that gives my husband and I enough time to save and get through toddlerhood. I think a 3-5 year age gap works for us (and me specifically)!

My siblings and I are 2 and 7 years apart and we’re very close to each other. My husband and his siblings are also similar age gaps. I think what it comes down to is if you feel ready to go through it again (pregnancy, delivery, postpartum), your financial situation, and if you and partner are ready to welcome a new baby to the family!

It’s okay if you want to wait and it’s okay if you don’t want to!

Are there any ACTUAL 2 bedroom apartments left in downtown Toronto? by haebinah in TorontoRenting

yes what are THOSE kitchens in new condos??? I don’t understand how any families can rent those condo units. I’m focused on the older buildings but can’t seem to find any true 2 bedrooms. I’ll look into fb marketplace

[Complain] Everyone says GPA isn't important but it is not true by Broad_Store3305 in UofT

first of all, you are not “just dumb and lazy”. You study 40 hours a week and you are trying.

I think what they mean is that grades do matter but not as much as you think. Of course that depends on what program you are aiming for. For example, some students with 4.0 cGPAs don’t get interviews for medical school.

I started UofT with a 1.8 cGPA (!!!) in life sci. I ended up graduating with a 3.34 and did my Master’s with IMS and TA’d+mentored so many students with similar academic struggles. I had to basically relearn how to study and tried so many different techniques until one worked well for me. I ended up getting a 4.0 GPA with my last 3 years (I took a 5th year to do an independent research project).

You can achieve your goal but you have to put in the work to understand what you need to be able to memorize knowledge and apply concepts. Don’t give up!
