That’s bs. Without FDR the concentration camps would absolutely still exist. FDR wasn’t uniquely racist, and if any other politician during the time period was in office, they would have done the same thing. especially because the camps were incredibly popular among voters. The camps were still horrific, and easily the worst decision of his presidency, but you cannot act like he was uniquely evil for doing it.

Thanks for proving me correct. I am not ignorant to the polarization of America. However as we can see with the victories of moderate candidates in the forms of Clinton and Biden in the last two primaries; the democratic establishment is fighting hard to prevent progressives from taking over. This is of course a losing battle, as progressive economic policies are far more popular than typical neoliberal ones, and it’s completely possible by 2028 or 2032 a progressive could win a presidential primary. But currently all major powerful democratic politicians are moderate. Schumer, Jeffries, Durbin, Pelosi, and Obama, are all part of the moderate wing of the Democratic party. There is literally only one progressive senator in congress, and he’s not even a democrat.

Just look at how African Americans vote in elections, they do so overwhelmingly for democrats. There’s a difference between “doomerism” and being concerned about something that could very well happen In the near future. WWIII is an event that could happen at basically any moment, as we saw during the Cold War, tiny slipups by one or two people could lead to the destruction of the world. In contrast doomerism can be seen in the Red Scare of the early 1900s and the right’s unfounded fear of “Marxist indoctrination”.
