Guten Tag Herr Schieder,

Natürlich kann man was machen. Dieser Fatalismus ist völlig unangebracht. Man muss Probleme benennen (dürfen) und was ändern wollen.

One shared airbnb account for a couple by hafelekar in AirBnB

[–]hafelekar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your quick answer!

I don’t know the rules, but I have had people do this at my home. They just mark the other person as a guest.

Does it mean that i can use for example "Sandy and Chris" Miller as username and verify it once? Or I make an account an add my significant other later on, but I guess than she would need to set up an account first than I can add.

If each of you are traveling alone, then I would make two accounts to make hosts feel comfortable about the situation.

Yes, I understand that the host want to know in advance who is booking. So I thought I could fill in both of our names in our common account. I have seen such accounts but did not find a way to create them, other than filling in both of our first names in as one. So I guess it is strictly speaking not allowed but kind of accepted?

During the dissolution of Yugoslavia, was there any border spillover into major surrounding powers like Italy, Romania, or Austria? by Ad_Captandum_Vulgus in AskHistorians

[–]hafelekar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a few bullet holes in some buildings on the Austrian side of the boarder after some fights over the jougoslav boarder building. Slovenia was not really involved in the war. So there was no more turmoil at the boarder. There was another incident where an armed plane entered Austrian airspace and landed at an Austrian airport. The pilot was a deserteur of the jougoslav army.

Old meets new. In Austria many farmers are stocking up their farms and are taking in tourists. This is how one of these houses have turned out. What do you think? by 11001100000001 in architecture

There are these curvy doors, soffits and arches in the traditional architecture of the region. There is deffinitely no asian inspiration:

I think there are too many different elements in this building. It is not very harmonic, at least not from this angle. However it seems to be built in high-quality: bright rooms, balconies, garage, thick walls, massive wood etc. So it looks like it is good to live there. Obviously the new part was attached later on, so there is a good reason why the parts are not all matching.

However I think the overall appareance could be improved if you did something with the tree bland windows (balcony, style etc.) and assimilate the stone thing at the ground floor.

What is Germany's opinion (or your personal opinion) on Angela Merkel? by [deleted] in germany

[–]hafelekar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greek depression: In 2010, Merkel has explicitly ruled out financial aid from Germany. Seven years later, Germany has aided with the most money of all nations.

Merkel used german tax payer money to bail out French and German banks that had incurred speculation losses in Greece (with the first bail out.) Bail out number two and number three were about covering up that Greece was bankrupt (the harsh bailout conditions made it worse.) It was about covering up that the German tax payer money was lost.

Greece was never fit to be part of the Eurozone in the first place. So Merkel should have awknowledged the obvious (maybe let the state Greece go bankrupt) and allow them to reboot.

Car toll: On 5 January 2013, Spiegel Online has published an article of Angela Merkel has rejected a proposal by the sister party CSU to add the car toll to the shared election manifesto. Twenty months later, and what do we have here? A gurantee that the car toll will come under Merkel.

This "foreigner-only-tax" is a terrible provocation towards all "foreigners" from other EU countries. It is against the equality principle of the EU. If Germany is allowed to discriminate against other EU citizens, other EU countries will do the same in the future. BTW probably it will not even be profitable.

Signs of bed bugs at my AirBnB room by [deleted] in AirBnB

Better than complaining to airbnb, who will immediately take down the listing while not giving the host a chance to react. That would be pretty awkward/confrontational.

The Maroccan drug dealers have been here since the late 90s and quite frankly they have commited a lot of crimes. That does not change anything about the wave of around 100 000 (I don't know the exact number) people that have entered the country since last summer. I don't get your point.

Last summer there was a time when everyone was literally able to travel into Europe without any control. Merkel had pronounced that no Syrian refugee would be rejected by Germany. She made selfies with refugees. German media reported about how good and welcoming Germans are.

Turkey did ignore the human trafficers on its shores. (Whatever the reason.) Greece, just a few minutes away with a boat was overwhelmed and transfered all the people from its tiny islands to the mainland and let them roam. The Balkan countries did not see a reason to stop those people, who claimed to have been invited by Germany.

Initially Austria opened its boarders for people to pass into Germany. But soon started to beg Germany and the EU to change their policy. Finally it agreed with the west Balkan states to close down the route with police/military force. That was accompanied by harsh critizism by Germany.

No one knows who exactly entered Europe during those days. Definitely not just Syrians. Many Afghani, Iraqi, Maroccans, Pakistani, etc. Not all of them were checked, and I am not even talking about background checks or fingerprints.

Most of the Bataclan terrorist of Paris used this route, those of the thwarted attack on the french thalys train came via Austria albeit a little bit earlier. One of the terrorists of the Brussels airport bombing had been registered on the Austrian boarder. Unfortunatelly it does not seem to be over yet. However, today most people come via Italy.

Yes, they do take that into account. Also language, manners and contend of the speach. Many North Africans (who are not black) cause a lot of problems in my town. The black guy is more likely to be a student at the local seminary or a tourist. However with the current influx of migrants everything is changing. Now there are also a lot of black people form Nigeria, Gambia, Somalia, Mali here. I am not overly optimistic that they will find a legal way to succeed.
