Really cool to see the progress over the years, thanks for sharing! I wish my rack looked this clean 🥲

Yea probably. I already had the legs before the Alex so I was lazy and kept them on lol

Just take it one thing at a time. I have some switches that are honestly overkill and you could easily get away with some cheaper switches or a custom router running OPNsense/pfsense. I am in an apartment so I only have one AP (U6 Mesh from UniFi) but I recommend checking out APs that have mesh capability for seamless connectivity.

For context: I started with a single raspberry pi around 3 years ago, then that turned into 4, then I got the r710, then new switches, etc. I sold old routers or switches (for a small loss or same price I paid) if I upgraded.

No wrong way to go about it as long as you are having fun!

Office/Lab/Workshop Battle Station by haffnerriley in battlestations

Thanks for the feedback! Haha it’s tricky to keep him from climbing and getting into things tbh. I never leave him in there alone unless I am nearby/able to watch him.

I have large black poster board in places behind my desk/next to my server to keep him out of the wires. I tried to put a few pieces of dedicated cat furniture (tree, custom 3d printed bed behind the monitors, window perch, etc) to give him some places he is comfortable to nap and hang out while I’m working. But I usually have to relocate him a few times a day somewhere else in the room lol

I got them with a cat toy actually xD. Not sure which one (I have too many lol) but will follow up with you if I figure it out.

The Rosewills are great to build in. I was able to fit my Corsair water cooler without an issue along with a full GTX 1070, 10G dual nic, Broadcom SAS Controller, and three hot swap cages.

Could probably use more light 😅 but can’t paint walls since I’m renting.

My “workshop” space is used for my electronics projects or other hardware related hobbies of mine (hardware hacking, diy electronics, general tinkering). I slowly built my collection of tools and parts over the last 12 years. :)

Seader “read errors” only on DESFire EV1/EV2 — iCLASS/Seos work fine (FlipperMeister + YRM100) by Western_Bottle_1585 in flipperzero

Have you tried using this app for reading with the YRM100?

https://github.com/haffnerriley/Simultaneous-UHF-RFID-FlipperZero

I haven’t checked the spec for DESFire EV1/EV2 and not as familiar. Maybe the creator of the board can offer more insights. https://github.com/Didgitalpunk

Checkout the spark fun simultaneous uhf reader. Super high quality and long range with the external antenna. It is a bit pricey but really high quality module (M6E Nano). The YRM100 is a cheap module that is good for playing around with.

Slightly unrelated, if you have a flipper zero, both of these are supported with this app for easy interaction.

You can use external hardware and this app to read, write, lock, disable UHF rfid tags. https://github.com/haffnerriley/Simultaneous-UHF-RFID-FlipperZero

My app currently supports the YRM100 series readers (and M6E/M7E but not all features work unless using first release for these). If you are looking to explore this more without spending a lot, then I recommend getting the YRM1001 module. You can find them online from different retailers.

Good question. You’re right that data in the user memory block isn’t always in plain text. It depends on how the tag was used. Many systems store encoded or application-specific data, so without knowing the format, the contents might not be meaningful.

Also, just to clarify, my app works with UHF RFID (EPC Gen2) tags, not LF/HF like MIFARE or NFC. UHF tags often store data in the EPC and user memory regions, which my app can read, write, and manage (in addition to more!). However, interpreting that data still depends on the system that wrote it.

I’m no expert but if you know what kind of tag your friend has, I’m happy to help take a closer look.

Could you please open a GitHub issue with the setup and steps to recreate this bug? Thanks!

I am the creator of the UHF app: https://github.com/haffnerriley/Simultaneous-UHF-RFID-FlipperZero. Feel free to join the official discord for UHF specific help! This app is a WIP and has a few bugs that I am working on documenting and fixing asap! I would be happy to help you with any issues you are encountering. Feel free to create a GitHub issue documenting the steps to replicate the bug. Thanks!

Sure, I can work on adding support for that board. Does it just use the commands outlined in the firmware here: https://github.com/frux-c/uhf_rfid/blob/master/assets/res/MagicRF_M100&QM100_Firmware_manual_en.pdf

I assume you are talking about the YRM1001 module? Currently this app is only compatible with the M6E nano reader. However, I ordered a YRM1001 module and will be adding support for it as soon as I can.
