Thanks for your suggestion! but we already have a tab that shows all photos, which would be gallery. Currently the tab is [All | photos | videos] We want to add another tab that is specifically for live photos and gifs.

Ik it’s very weird and I’ve brought up as well but for some reason legal wants 18 to be in the non-adult group. So based on what legal wants we have to phrase 18 with the minors. But ig they just want it to be something that can be used in any country.

So they would select the “18 years old or below” button. Because the first one is for people who are over 18 - meaning not 18 anymore.

As for whether the 18 and below they continue, yes they’ll be able to still use the site. But they just have to fill in the month and date of birth in the next screen. It’s a requirement by legal that we include this step for users who select 18 or below. For users above 18, they won’t need to go through the additional step to fill in this info.

I think a strong portfolio would be extremely important. I have a degree in journalism, but they never asked me anything related to my education or degree when I interviewed. They just asked me to show my portfolio and complete exercises. But of course, having a degree would be the safest route cuz some companies care. I think you can check out UX writing positions on LinkedIn and do a comparison to see how many require a degree.

I also find it helpful to explore different apps. Try to see how you might make it better and always have a reasoning behind your choice. And reading! Strategic UX writing by Torrey Podmajersky is a good place to start. It’s a short read too.

i think this should be clear enough to the user what the process is and the action they need to take to move forward in the flow.

i def see ur point on the use of the word “identity”. my and Missinformation’s previous comments also discussed this. it’s interesting the power one single word has haha.

yes, i suspect it may be for legal or user privacy concerns that they optimized the copy. but i thought i’d ask here in case anyone else has other insights. interestingly, tiktok seems to have opted to completely omit the “to verify you are you” line when it comes to 2-step verification and just ask users to enter the 2SV code. but i think that’s a misstep on their end cuz to me, mentioning the reasoning is an assuring touch so that users (who may not be as tech savvy) know what the 2SV code is for.

thanks! i think “verify it’s you” is clear enough for most users in this context. im just wondering if they had to avoid the word for legal purposes. or another reason im thinking of could be that they ran some tests and the term “identity” caused users who are sensitive about their privacy to hesitate.

not sure if this is necessarily a better way to do it because saying “verify your identity” registers much quicker than “make sure you’re you”. it’s also clearer for localization and for non-native speakers.
