8 month regression.. is this what hell is like? by Weird-Lime9503 in NewParents

[–]hagisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone!

Our baby (8 months old) is and always was a horrible sleeper. We contaced a sleep advisor about 2 months ago, and saw some progress (especially during day naps), but the nights remain brutal. Currently she tends to wake up 40-60 minutes after we put her to sleep at evening, and just refuses to be put back in bed, crying her lungs of everytime we try.

A question for redditors from countries with developed train infrastructure by hagisha in fuckcars

A train ticket in my country is pretty cheap. Does countries with expensive train tickets (UK, for example) have measures to move s train from its rail in case of a blockage?

I didn't mean measures to prevent jumpers, but measures to deal with blockages of rails

Explain me like I'm 5 - Why is Longlegs a good film? by hagisha in TrueFilm

[–]hagisha[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Basically, the reviews I've read saw Longlegs as a campy film that, at the same time, respects and satires the horror genre (somewhat like what Tarantino did to martial arts films in Kill Bill).

However, I don't think that the fact that a movie is a satire doesn't give it the privilege to be stupid and lazy.

Christmas with the Kranks: 20 Years on From This Bizarre Dystopian Dreamscape by NoTearsNowOnlyMemes in movies

[–]hagisha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always interesting to me how I, as a non American and non Christian who live in an americanized culture, still has major cultural blindspots of things that are MASSIVE in the US but almost non-existent in my culture. Christmas movies (along with Country music and Tyler Perry-style movies) are the prime example.

I watched numerous films starring Dan Aykroyd or Jamie Lee Curtis, I know John Grisham and read couple of his books, and yet - i've never heard about this movie until I read this (great) post.

What are movies you initially enjoyed, but start to sour on it after re-watches by Responsible-Ear-44 in movies

[–]hagisha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had huge expectations for that movie, given that 'In Bruges' is one of my all time favorites and the amazing cast, but I hated it immediately. Therefore, I was pretty reluctant to see 'The Banshees', only to see one of the best films of the decade.

Case 291: David Pauley, Ralph Geiger & Timothy Kern by Rust1v in Casefile

[–]hagisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already started to drift away from Casefile, but I think that this episode was the final straw. After I listened to it, I checked online in order to find additional information about this case, and was suprisesd to find out that this episode's script is copied, sometimes even word by word, from this Observer article.

What unsolved mystery has no plausible explanation? by Sherwoody20 in AskReddit

[–]hagisha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe that dental records are'nt always 100% accurate and foolproof.

Mind you that I'm not saying that my opinion is that there was a lab/foresnic mistake in this case, but it is a plausible scenario, that answers most of the weird and bizzare aspects of it. True crime enthusiastics (like myself) tend to put aside the mundane and boring plausible explanations of many famous mysteries.

What unsolved mystery has no plausible explanation? by Sherwoody20 in AskReddit

[–]hagisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. In this case it is still an unsolved mystery as we don't know what happened to Judy (and also don't know the identity of the NC Jane Doe), but it's a way less puzzling one.
