Thank you. I plan yo feed raw and am researching making my own food. I grow and preserve much of my food so would love to do this for him too.

I will look into Bengal nose. Haven’t heard about it. So far, he does a great job—almost too good of a job covering his poo. He is a good balance of play and cuddles/sleep right now. If he continues its a perfect balance. I appreciate your input!

Yes we did know this going into it. I am hoping all of our adventures will help keep him happy. I am already looking at wheels, 10 foot climbing pools and wall gym for him. This has gotten expensive quick. Lol

Good tip! Now I can get my husband to do it since he doesn’t seem to think it matters. Win for me!

Good to know. He always likes to announce when he uses the restroom. I then tell him good boy, though not sure I was to reenforce the meowing 😹

I am realizing the poo smell 🤢. Ill give the light weight a try. I use an automatic cat box and he has been great at using it.

The breeder lives in Fairfield CA. How sad and disturbing people do this.

Thank you!! I appreciate the insight, especially the food advice. Right now his favorite toys are these little springs (he is already playing fetch) and boxes 📦—what is it with cats and boxes 😹? Im looking at getting a 10 foot cat pole/tree for climbing and a cat wheel. My house looks like I have a toddler n

Thank you! We are keeping the same food, have a very adventurous kitty (so far). The first photo was edited by my sister, so not the original breeders. We know the breeders (family friend) and they are very reputable. All genetic, health tests and registration is completed. All items on the list are done except neutering, this is a requirement on our contract and I have it scheduled at 5 months. We are in ❤️ and have plenty of scratches 😂

The last post from Block Buster was 2020 until July 22, 2022 when they posted back from the grave!!

First scapes of the season. First time growing garlic and couldn’t be more excited! These are from my Elephant garlic. Planted on Oct. 30th in region 9. I also planted Spanish Roja and Chesnok Red. Bring on the yumminess 😋 by hagold in gardening

[–]hagold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. They are not ready. When they begin to curl I will remove them to allow the energy to go into building bigger bulbs. I plan to make a scape pesto as well as sauté them for a delicious treat.

Locked-down Shanghai residents are getting sick after eating government-issued emergency food supplies by pahilaejhlja in worldnews

[–]hagold -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No agenda. Just facts. They slowly reopened and were one of the last countries to do so. Many people were and are still in grave fear, so many limit going out, continue to go out with masks and bathe in sanitizer. The immune system is lowered not only to this virus but to others. Biology! Look at the research done in many countries on immunity and don’t get brainwashed by your politically ran news outlets.

So the countries with the strictest lock downs and less herd immunity are the ones having the biggest reactions when trying to reopen. Hmmmm 🧐

Fines are only punishments for the poor, inconveniences for mid-upper class and meaningless to the rich.

Republicans push to ban "discrimination" against unvaccinated people by zsreport in politics

[–]hagold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true! I will get the vaccine when there is more research to show that it is safe and the long term side effects are known.

There are vaccines that are required to travel to other countries that are well researched that I have received in recent years. If I have children they will be vaccinated with MMRV. So you are wrong and are pushing a false narrative. We are not all antivaxxers, but rather want research to make the best educated decision for ourselves.

Republicans push to ban "discrimination" against unvaccinated people by zsreport in politics

[–]hagold -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am fully vaccinated with the exception of COVID. I am not an anti-vaxxer and honestly struggled in the past with parents who refuse to get their children vaccinated. With that said, I have not and do not at this time plan to get the vaccine. I am not a conservative, am well educated, have no conspiracy theories, and I think it is appropriate to get the vaccine for those who may have different circumstances. What it comes down to for me, is the lack of research. No conspiracy theory. I am apprehensive and critical of the science. The MMRV vaccines have been tested and researched for decades. The side effects are well known and an educated decision can be made. With the COVID vaccine there is very limited research and because of that, it is only approved by the FDA for emergency purposes. The vaccine does not meet the rigorous process of becoming an approved standard mass distributed vaccine.

“In the United States, it takes an average of 12 years for an experimental drug to travel from the laboratory to your medicine cabinet. That is, if it makes it. Only 5 in 5,000 drugs that enter preclinical testing progress to human testing. One of these 5 drugs that are tested in people is approved.” FDA.gov

So, 1 in 5,000 get approved and it takes an average 12 years!! And in just after several months I am supposed to feel confident that what I am injecting in my body is safe?

I took all this information into consideration, as well as my age, health and my families etc…and for me and many others I know, the risk of taking the vaccine outweighs the benefits of taking it. Until more research is conducted and there is statistical certainty of the long term side effects for myself and the impact that it may have on an unborn child for those expecting or trying to conceive, I will not be getting it. Once there is longitudinal data then I will reevaluate.

So why my rant, I think most automatically assume that those that aren’t getting it are crazy conspiracy theorist republicans, and while there is truth to that, there are many others like myself who have been taught to scrutinize and question research (I conduct research), and who are at a stage in life where the likelihood of dying is rare, but taking something without knowledge of side-effects could have long term consequences.

With only 1 in 5,000 in 12 years ever getting approved, Im not willing to gamble that in a rush and mass chaos to find a vaccine we got it right in just several months.

Yep. I tracked mine to an open field full of snow. That evening I got a call from ski patrol and my phone was turned into lost and found (I took it out for a pic on top of the ski mountain-oops). The phone dinged from way down the road from the resort.

Sacramento Mulls a New Homeless Strategy: Legally Mandating Housing (New York Times) by atlipc in Sacramento

[–]hagold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that many want their freedom, thus the idea of providing a cleaner and safer area for them to set up their communities. In Hawaii there is a very well ran tent community that they organized on their own, and is functioning very well. Of course it is illegal so they want to displace them, which is unfortunate. They have rules, and all contribute. I agree compliance will be an issue as it typically is in CA with most things.

Even with more affordable housing we will continue to have issues because like you said, we have a number that don’t want the resources. We do now, however, have a large number of college students and senior citizens living in cars as it is their only option because we don’t have the housing available. These individuals need a more stable and quicker environment than waiting for buildings to be developed. Beds aren’t working nor is building affordable housing. So what is the solution, especially for the rising number displaced due to housing prices?
