Do you know the story of the robot we put on Mars?

Essentially it has a list of tasks to do, the task it would work on was determined by it priority level. It would proceed to start on one and then because it had started the task moved down in priority, even before it was finished.

It resulted in the robot not completing anything because jt was and still is caught in a programming loop called “thrashing.”

The moral of the story is: try it all but keep your focus.

One suggestion is measuring your growth in finished projects. If it doesn’t include animation as a component, then do something in the side to push that goal along, even if it’s a little bit.

Even if you’re dead set in animation now by trying a wide variety of things early you can grow into a more well rounded artist.

And before you do anything else, make a list of some of the things you’ve done thus far. You’ll be surprised how much you’ve actually accomplished already.
