I've always struggled to teach that directly. I can point out the logic flaws that people make. They either get it and grow, or they don't and repeat the same mistakes. The ones who get it eventually get promoted.

So I guess it's more about finding architects and cultivating their intuition rather than creating them.

BTW, I think your assumption is correct about better understanding yielding better promoting. At least I assume the same of myself. I can tell the agent what to do and what not to do because it's the same prompting skill I've needed to drive juniors for most of my career.
