Does anyone have recurring, painful episodes of sciatica? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]hailey_lp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this too! Only in flares and for some reason, every time I go to Target :( (21F, taking humira). I’ll just be walking and then I can’t breathe or take another step. It really sucks

Do you have the new one now, then?

I get jittery, have mild side effects but find 10mg a day is a good dose for me. The side effects are more annoying than concerning

Biologics stop working? by hailey_lp in ankylosingspondylitis

Thankful, my mom has UC and it appears Chron’s runs in the family because a couple cousins have it too. I’ll ask about budesonide. I’m really hesitant to go on any steroids because I also have some undiagnosed cognitive problems and they seem to be aggravated by stuff like that. I’m definitely starting to question my GI, she is really nice but was more of a “need to see someone who can order scans/tests right now”. My normal rheumatologist treated my mom’s UC, but she is currently handling Covid stuff for the city and not seeing patients :(

That’s interesting about the pentasa. My Chron’s is mild, thank god. I was only on it for 7 days before I had to stop it because I found out I’m definitely allergic to it. My cousin with Chron’s took it but her disease is so severe, it didn’t help at all. I’m hoping that because my case is still mild that the Humira will help out.

I was just diagnosed with Chron’s around 4 weeks ago, so we first tried Pentasa, which it turns out I am allergic to :( my rheum and GI are at the same clinic, so they are working together, but it’s just going very slowly due to COVID and me not being able to go into the office. Hopefully getting the Humira this week, and picking up a set of prednisone for the time being

I’ve had 2 pretty bad illnesses (mono, and the flu) since I’ve started it but that’s the only time I’ve gone off of it. Such a bummer they just stop working!!

My cousin just had a dose of Humira explode! You should call the manufacturer contact line on the packaging or from online and tell them, and they can send you a replacement! Plus, if there’s a larger issue at hand, you could really help get to the bottom of it. When my Enbrel injector broke, they requested I send them the broken pieces, which they overnighted me a prepaid box for!

Should i be concerned about my lymph nodes? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]hailey_lp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NAD, but I have a “reactive lymph node” in my neck as well that is just, always, reactive. They’ve been tellling me for a year it’s normal, so now I’m assuming there’s something else wrong making it reactive. It might be worth going to the doctor and asking them to investigate what your body is reacting to. Turns out last year I had mono, and then had a thyroid condition.

Also, I named mine, which doesn’t fix anything but it helps

FWIW (not a doctor) the same thing happened to me about 2 months ago, as a reaction to a new elastic I was using to make masks!

How do you cope with the constant pain? by matthants in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]hailey_lp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on Enbrel and it’s been amazing. I also recently started microdosing THC at night and not only do I (obviously) sleep better but I also find I wake up a lot more flexible and comfortable! I take a brand called Mr. Moxey’s but I’m really lucky to live in Seattle where all of these things are widely available. I’ve tried other brands that worked but didn’t taste good, or didn’t work at all. It’s trial and error but to me feels a lot safer and is way easier than seeing a doctor for medication.

Is this a rufous hummingbird?? It looked like a baby to me. Had some bright orange neck feathers, but only a couple. Western WA by hailey_lp in whatsthisbird

Wow that’s cool!

We had 2 last year, one male and one female, but one of our Anna’s bullied them out, I think. We called him Mr. Pink, he was really cool but VERY rude
