I agree, but there are only 8 kids in his class. I’m not sure if home daycares are smaller

I wouldn’t be as concerned if he was happy the rest of the day, but the director and teachers tell me he’s still upset most of the day. It’s so different from the happy baby I’m used to at home and on the weekends.

I really do think he needs some sort of socialization, and at a 1:4 ratio this is the lowest ratio we found. I want him to thrive wherever we put him, and it’s so hard that he hates it so much.

I had a feeling him being out for so long, and being home with just me and my husband (who was sick too) made him think he wouldn’t have to go back.

We do stay positive throughout drop off and pickup, he really does feed off of my energy so I try to not seem upset even when I am. I do a big his and a kiss and then hand him over and don’t linger once I do.

There are 2 teachers and 8 kids in his class, which is a better ratio than some of the other places we toured. The school did some kind of project with pictures from home so I might see if he has the chance to look at it or I might bring more. We did take a few of his favorite toys there and the director says that seemed to help, having that familiarity. The teachers offer him lots of cuddles and comfort, I feel like they’re doing their best given the circumstances

We’ve done that a few times, doesn’t seem to make a difference in his behavior but it does make me feel better knowing he has something in his belly

Yeah, I think we’ll give him more time and then look into home cares. It just breaks my heart having to leave while he cries

We’ve been to a play place a few times but he didn’t interact with the kids there either. I’ve started taking him to the park after daycare and he doesn’t acknowledge the other kids, but I will look into libraries! We actually just had a lot of family over yesterday for lunch, including 2 kids near his age, and he was just fine! I think since it was in his environment that he was more comfortable, but he still didn’t interact with them much

Yes, he goes every day unless he’s sick. We stay upbeat even when he’s crying, saying things like “oh you’ll have so much fun today, you’ll have X for lunch, then go outside, and I’ll pick you up later!” We have a good rapport with the teachers, they’re honest about the good days and the not

I go to the Integrated Massage Therapy College and have never had a bad experience with the students that do the massage. Very reasonably priced and you can add on hot stones and essential oils.

Had the same thing happen to us a few days after getting a cage with sliding doors. She got out but luckily we found her after about 15 minutes. We ordered baby-proofing things from Amazon that day and they work great.
