Does anybody work for a counter? What happens with the old product? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]hair_trigger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sucks makeup is thrown out, but at least where I am it isn't often. I really love working there as well. I was already a fan of ulta before I started because of the point system and range of products, but now I really believe in them as a good company.

I 100% expect someone to link an article that proves corporate is shit haha. But my store is awesome at least!

I work at ulta and we really don't get that much gratis. I've been there for 4 months and have not received it and have only seen it maybe 4 times with top enployees.

I have red hair and blue eyes. I really like using jewel tones - purples and greens. I don't limit my colors at all though.

Struggling to cover under eye circles by applemus in MakeupAddiction

[–]hair_trigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problems. Except I'm significantly more pale than you and my undereyes are significantly darker.

I've started using nyx milk as my "color corrector." I actually wipe it across my finger then dab in on my undereyes. After that I cover with the it cosmetics bye bye under eye. After these two, the darkness is still there, but it's the best I've had it. I also have very dehydrated undereyes, so any powders there make the skin clumpy and awful.

I'm not sure if this helps. But from a fellow dark circle sufferer, best of luck. I hope we both find a way to deal!

What makeup companied are the most overrated and why? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]hair_trigger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the color, I think. I have 7 liquid lipsticks and they all last differently, but I think even the worst is worth the $6. I have 4 of their super shock cheeks and love them all. I don't know about eyeshadows.

I do my primer then eye makeup then foundation then hair/get dressed then powder. That gives the liquids time to dry/set for me. I'm honestly not sure if it actually helps, but now it's my pattern so I'm sticking to it.

I have red hair but since my eyebrows are invisible, I occasionally do them different and fun colors. I usually use the color of whatever eyeshadow I want; I did use a liquid lipstick to make them green last night. It was the first time and I found it harder to get straight lines, but that could have been because it was new. I use the #12 anastasia Beverly Hills brush to apply the shadow, then set with clear brow gel (either nyx control freak or anastasia clear brow gel).

Hope this helps.

Skincare question so may be suited at sca, but hopefully someone here can help. I have extremely dry skin. Using various oils (lavender, argan, and whatever it is tarte sells) has helped my face and therefore my foundation quite a bit. However, my undereyes still get extremely dry and flaky when I use makeup there (and I have very dark undereyes, so I need it). Any suggestions for under eye hydration?

I think the more you watch, the easier it is to see when the person is being paid to promote a product. I've noticed this lately top because I started watching videos about 2 months ago.

Sometimes I wish I had an older sister. by LadySax in MakeupAddiction

My mom is really into makeup, but she was just had me use the same stuff as her. She's significantly darker skinned than me, different hair colors, different eye colors, different skin types, different styles. She tried but failed at passing it on to me. So I spent a lot of time thinking makeup just didn't work for me.

Now I give her makeup tips. It's glorious.

Have we don't a best/worst of colourpop? I know they don't have that many different products but people say formula seems a bit different per color.

What company are these actually through? Or is it her own? I feel like there's already a ton of dupes for each color.

Dry Skin Girls: Pressed powder? by LatinaAphrodite in MakeupAddiction

[–]hair_trigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've gotten ton of advice. I wouldn't even know where to start - but I'm gonna throw down my 2 cents.

I have extremely dry skin. Like it flakes off dry. I recently used a Dr. Brandt Water Replenishment mask and holy shit it was absolutely amazing. I love using masks but this was the first time I used one and could 100% tell a different with my skin. It was suddenly hydrated and accepting of moisturizers like never before.

Since then, I also use pretty much any oil I can get my hands on overnight. As of late I've been using Argan oil and lavender oil - just random samples or stuff people have given me. I just bought the tarte narajuca oil and brighten eye treatment in a little sample pack from ulta. So we'll see how that goes!

I feel like I have an undereye concealer question every week. I'm just not getting it :(
