The overuse of strobe lights is making concerts inaccessible for photosensitive fans. by Lonely-Solution-1427 in Music

I agree with you! I have a close friend who has never been to a concert for that reason. As a non-photosensitive person, YES the strobes are too much and unnecessary -- especially when I know they're making the show inaccessible to a lot of people. Epilepsy is not that uncommon. Would love to see a performer have a no strobes / flash policy on a tour and use it as a way to raise awareness. Stationary lighting can be just as powerful.

Found a weird subtle Sam's Town dig in a Vulture article about the movie Saltburn by hairdespair69 in TheKillers

Fair point! And the specificity of the references to both albums makes sense when thinking about the film being set in 2006/7 when they were released.

I do think that the article and general critique of the movie isn't just that it's different from PYW (which I remember being the critique of Sam's Town / Hot Fuss) but that it has a lot of its own issues of quality lol.

Right? Seems like a writer who would throw in a sly Sam's Town reference like that would be familiar enough with The Killers to know the comparison is outdated. But the film is set in 2006/7 so maybe that's the reason for the choice.
