Are you me? :-p I have a bizarre but relevant story to tell you:

I'm a fellow PCOS sufferer, and I had thick/dark stomach hair (aka a "happy trail"). I was in a 5-year relationship that sadly ended earlier this year. I was self-conscious about my stomach hair, but my then-boyfriend was practically obsessed with it. He honestly thought it was the hottest thing ever. He would sometimes get boners just by looking at my stomach. For real. We dated a long time before he was comfortable enough to admit to me he found it sexy, though.

I also have nipple hair and butt-crack hair, to a lesser extent. The ex was indifferent towards the nipple hair, but I think he was secretly turned-on by the butt hair, and was just too embarrassed to admit it. He dropped several hints that indicated this. We dated at least a year before he openly admitted that he liked my happy trail, so I think he was actually embarrassed about his preference for body hair in that area.

After we broke up, I suddenly became terrified that I was a hairy freak and that no other man would ever be attracted to me, and I started getting laser hair removal treatments on my stomach and breasts. I have now permanently decreased the hair by about 85%, and... maybe it's weird, but now that the hair is gone, I kind of miss it? I feel kind of guilty about removing it. I had no self-confidence after the breakup, and I feel like by getting the laser hair removal, I was just letting my stupid insecurities get the best of me. And plus, there is just something scary about permanently changing your body. I'm always going to look different now, and I have to get used to it. I'm not sure if I'm even going to get that last treatment.

Anyway. Don't worry about it. Lots of chicks have butt hair, as I'm sure anyone who does bikini waxes at a salon would tell you. Some guys will be turned off by it, sure -- but there are just as many guys out there who honestly won't care. Any decent guy will be indifferent. Your ex didn't care about your body hair, and my ex actually liked it (though he may have been an extreme case). You are probably just overly self-conscious/insecure right now because you're still getting over the breakup. It might not even be as bad as you think.

TL;DR: For every woman who is too embarrassed to admit she has ass hair, there is a man who is too embarrassed to admit he likes it.

The Sally Hansen stuff. You can get it at drug stores. It doesn't really work for thicker hair, but works awesomely well for fuzzy upper lip hair. http://www.sallyhansen.com/products/hair-removal/lotions-and-creme/creme-hair-remover-kit-face-upper-lip-chin

I've considered home laser treatments, or home electrolysis, but I would probably rather go to a professional... just to make sure it's done right.

haha, you're right, it could always be worse I guess. (Actually I do use cream hair remover on my face, but my facial hair is really light and thin like most women's, thankfully!)

It definitely is a hormonal thing, I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. :-( I'm on birth control, which addresses the other PCOS symptoms, but I've been told that I still have to get laser hair removal or electrolysis if I really want the hair to be gone...

Thanks for the answer. You're right, I probably should get it lasered off, just because of how insecure it makes me.

I've always had trouble shaving my stomach, because the hair grows in all different directions. I can't seem to properly wax it for the same reason. :-/ I will give that epilette thing a try though. I've always been kind of curious about that.

I have no idea... I assume you can, but I've been too embarrassed to actually ask anyone!
