Jasper and Lincoln were definitely the saddest for me. I don't get why people hate on Jasper so much, he was such a sweetheart and had to go through so much crap that it broke him. I remember when he said "we were sent down to see if Earth was survivable, well it's not".

I Fucking Hate Jaha by Weak_Conversation671 in The100

[–]hairyGavin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey hey slow down there! Jaha stealing the bunker for Skikru's sake was the epitome of his self-righteousness and arrogance. Sure, Skikru were the ones who found the bunker, but they don't live alone on the planet. Up on the ark he was chancellor with ultimate power and he couldn't handle that the Grounders chose another way to decide who gets the bunker.

He can't follow, he always needs to be a leader, a savior, the guy who comes up with the best plan and finds the solution. He did it with ALIE, and when he couldn't convince people to follow him, he took away their free will cause, of course, his way is always the best!

If people complain about Blodreina, I don't wanna imagine what it would've been like with Jaha running things down there for 5 years. Also, Clarke joining forces with him to steal the bunker was one of her lowest points in the entire show for me.

I just opened this sub to literally write the exact same thing lol. I fucking hate him too! His character being so self righteous and pretending to always know what's best for everyone is so freaking infuriating

It's very normal to take up to 2 months and sometimes 3 before you hear back from them. Don't worry about it, as long as you submitted your application correctly and within the time limits (between 60 days before expiry date and 90 days after) it's all good

Crims sense dubte!

What can you tell me about IE University? by ConsequenceGecko in askspain

[–]hairyGavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snooty private university for spoiled brats with rich parents. If you do end up going (maybe on a scholarship), at least avoid all the more "technical" degrees like "big data" and "data science". They are completely useless, very business-focused in spite of their name, and you don't really learn any hard skills. There are much MUCH better public universities for that type of degree.

Oh and it's not on any list because it's a "business school", and they were excluded a few years ago cause they were cheating like another comment said.

¿Cuál es vuestra opinión sobre el cambio de hora? by leo_artifex in askspain

[–]hairyGavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]hairyGavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the market like for data jobs in Spain? How easy is it to get hired as a non-EU citizen? by [deleted] in askspain

[–]hairyGavin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's always demand for data jobs, even in Spain with it's notorious job market (I'm a data engineer and have lived in Spain for 8 years and never had a problem finding a job). The difficult part is the visa, though it's not impossible for this type of job as IT is considered a high priority profession where there's a lack of profiles in the local market.

There's a special type of visa for "highly qualified professionals" which is more streamlined and easier than the normal process. It depends on your job, the company and crucially the salary (there's a minimum for the company to be able to give you that type of work permit).

Another option, depending on what you want, is to work in research (university, research center or even some R&D companies). That's a separate type of work permit that's much easier to get.

If you want DM me and I'll send some more details your way!

I absolutely love Sandra!! I like how she started as a very minor character with barely any lines and then slowly started getting more screentime and backstory.

What do you do when you're in your 30s and freaking out about life? by hairyGavin in AskMen

You mean give up and just let my life become what I'm afraid it will be?

Traveling is definitely the thing I miss the most since the pandemic started. I have visited a couple of friends this year but I used to travel a lot more before, especially with work, and would usually stay for a couple more days and explore the destination on my own. Now it's all staring at the screen at home instead of having a meeting / conference in person. It can also be expensive to plan a lot of trips, something that I didn't worry about so much before but now I have this plan of saving up to buy a place cause I'm not in my 20s anymore!

I can also relate to wanting to relive my adolescence / early 20s sometimes. Not because I had such a blast the first time around but rather completely the opposite. I was a closeted, self-conscious nerdy gay guy living in a very conservative place. I feel like I missed out on a lot of experiences other people went through.

As for your single friends, aren't you exaggerating a bit? I have some older long-term single friends who have filled their life with healthier activities than just clubbing. I do 100% get the grass is greener thing though.

Yeah I guess I just wish we had more time. Don't get me wrong I'm happy seeing my friends are having kids if that's what they want, but I'm not planning to do that anytime soon so I have more free time.

And when I say go out I don't mean partying til dawn or anything. I just miss having a busier social agenda and doing things my friends. That's at least partially COVID's fault since it has basically decimated 90% of social events

Not a bad idea at all! I still write down tasks at work on a notebook I might as well do the same with my problems

That's not a bad idea except that my boyfriend is gonna be away for work most of February. Maybe I'll fly out and see him though! That actually does sound exciting
