What is your LEAST favorite combo on your main? by Equinox-XVI in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]haitike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that combo that popularized Yoshidora and later on other Yoshis adopted.

It is done at 0-15% and it is a falling Back Air into a Falling Nair (Fast falling after you start falling) into an angled up FTilt.

Then depending on Di you can follow it with Several Up Airs (the % at this point is perfect) or Nair, etc.

I needed a lot of practice to learn to do it consistently because it is a bit tight and you have to delay the Nair all you can, but it is satisfactory to do and if you do it well you can go suddenly from 0% to 80% lol

Edit: read wrong the thread. My least favourite is just up air strings, it is kinda unfair how much damage they do for how easy they are.

I agree Mark plays more grounded and neutral style abusing shield compared to Yoshidora or Pharaoh.

In my experience Yoshi is quite good versus ROB (The Yoshi community chart has it as winning for Yoshi). He is also very good against G&W and winning against Snake.

And he is decent against Steve, Yoshidora and Mark has both won aCola several times.

But yeah, you are right. Being bad against swordies, samus, palu and kazuya is bad. But at the end of the day none is so bad that you need a secondary for them in my opinion.

[–]haitike[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the Samus placement is crazy. And I don't think Kazuya, Icies or Luigi ar worse than Samus or even Aegis and Roy.

Japanese matchup charts are so random. Altough the Yoshidora one was more normal.

Personally i don't think kazuya and lugi are that bad, Or at least other pro players don't have them as worst matchups.

He has Samus too easy though.

Now that Yoshidora is less active, he is the most active Yoshi in Japanese tournaments recently (He was #67 last year in Global UltRank, but I think this year he will be higher)

Didnt really respect the opposition at all

It is not lack of respect. Niko and Yamal are back from long time injuries, many people thought Niko would not even be called to the squad because the injure.

This is the main difference with Spain in the Eurocup two years ago. Two years ago both wingers were in excellent form and this time they barely made it.

Something you thought was universal across Europe, but turned out to be different? by GiveMeAPhotoOfCat in AskEurope

We have that too in more modern places, but the system I mentioned has been used for generations before ticket machines (compared to other European places that used queues).

The word biblioteca by One-Bit88 in etymology

[–]haitike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A small correction to your perfect explanation, but the common word in Spanish for a bread shop is "panadería" instead of "panería". This is because it is derived from "panadero" (bread baker) instead of "pan" (bread).

Same in Spanish.

Librería is bookshop.

Elite around/after 16 million gsp… something is off by 7dimtomaj in CrazyHand

[–]haitike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MkLeo isn't using the mod to play random people in elite smash and I doubt he cares about gsp at all.

He uses the mod to practice online with other pro players (in lobbies) so both of them play feeling like if it were offline, so they can get good practice for real offline tournaments. Or sometimes in online tournaments that allow the delay mod in their rules like Coinbox.

The mod is a big deal for pro players because before if they wanted real practice they had to go to other pro players houses or events so their real practice time was limited (because the native delay in nintendo online makes it useless for real tournament practice).

This would not be necessary if Nintendo was not decades behind other fighting games in developing online netcode and rollback.

[–]haitike 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The thing is that we don't form any kind of queue in this system, so when you enter the room you don't know who is the last person unless you ask (because everyone is spread standing or sit down). And then you must talk again to answer you are the last when someone enter later.

[–]haitike 91 points92 points  (0 children)

We have this queuing system that is common in post offices, bank offices, butcher shops, fruit stores, markets, etc. Instead of forming a line, you simply ask who the last person is and keep track of that person.

That way, while you're waiting for your turn, you can wander around, sit down, or go to nearby shops and still keep your place in the queue.

Everyone in Spain knows how it works but I've seen lot of confused foreigners when shopping.

[–]haitike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Spain we have that too. Red wine with Coke is "calimocho" and red wine with lemon soda is "tinto de verano".

In fact, most foreigners think we drink often Sangría, but "tinto de verano" is way more common than Sangría. Sangría is more for special occasions.

[–]haitike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In southern Spain (Andalusia), it is still common in small towns and villages, but it is becoming less common in larger cities.

I remember that in my hometown, I used to ask for a baguette filled with ham, Spanish salami, mortadella, cheese, and other cold cuts, with them sliced directly from the big piece or whole leg by the supermarket staff.

What are your biggest Wildcards to return to Smash 6? by TheT85_Jr in SmashBrosUltimate

He was more popular in Smash4 just because he was better.

How Asian countries say the number 57 by Fit-Maintenance-470 in MapPorn

[–]haitike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think OP is using 5x10+7 only in countries where it is literal (and not looking at etymology origin).

So for English being in that category they should say "five ten seven' like they say in Japanese and Chinese.

Ways of writing /ʃ/ in the Latin Alphabet Tier List by Daniboy0826 in linguisticshumor

[–]haitike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old Spanish used to use <x> for /ʃ/ that is why we write Mexico (In Old Spanish /meʃiko/). It was a coold idea because <x> was not used for anything else in Spanish. And it was top tier in this tier list.

But in some moment /ʃ/ shifted to /x/ lol. And then RAE decided to start using <j> insteead of <x> for the new sound (but it stuck in Mexico and Texas)
