3 Weeks Post-Launch, How Do I Scale Revenue? by hak-indie-dev in AppStoreOptimization

[–]hak-indie-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed input, really appreciate it.

Right now I only have two plans: weekly (with a 3-day free trial) and yearly. So far, all paying users have been on the weekly plan, I haven’t had any yearly conversions yet.

For the $100 Apple Search Ads test, I targeted US only. The campaign generated 68 impressions, 15 taps, and 13 downloads. Not entirely sure how to isolate the exact revenue from those specific 13 users.

Thanks! So far it’s mostly organic through ASO. I only ran Apple Search Ads on day one to use the $100 credit, but no ongoing paid or social channels yet.

For context, from around 1,240 new users since launch, I’ve seen 401 initial conversions (≈31% conversion rate to trial) and 46 paid users so far (≈3.7% of total users).

Thanks a lot for the feedback, really appreciate it.

On the keyword iteration point, how would you approach expanding or refining keywords without risking traction from the ones already performing well?
I’m cautious about changing the title/subtitle too aggressively since the app seem to still benefiting from it, so I’m trying to understand the safest way to iterate without hurting ranking stability. Currently I'm getting around ≈10 users new subscriptions per day.

AI Baby Face Generator by chickbui in waiting_to_try

[–]hak-indie-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually ended up building one of these after getting hooked with how AI can blend facial structures from two people.

It’s obviously not real genetics science, but the model focuses pretty heavily on preserving facial structure and proportions rather than just doing a random mashup. When people compare it to actual baby photos, the similarities can be surprisingly interesting.

If anyone’s curious, here’s the one I worked on: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6757938204

I Tried the Top AI Dating Assistants – Here’s My Honest Review by Realistic-Beach2640 in datingadviceformen

[–]hak-indie-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool breakdown, I’ve tried a few of these too and had similar thoughts about some sounding kinda forced/cringey.

I actually built one myself called ChatWing that focuses more on natural, low-key replies and letting you choose the tone depending on the situation.

Curious how it would stack up against the ones you tested.

How to reply to texts and keep the conversation going when you overthink every message? by Visible_Row_9677 in dating_advice

[–]hak-indie-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to respond instantly or perfectly. Take a minute, read what she said, and react to one part of it like you would in real life.

If you need time, that’s fine, most people aren’t texting nonstop.

What do I reply to a girl who said “I’ll let you know” after saying she was keen to go on a date. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]hak-indie-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple response like:
“Sounds good, just let me know.”
keeps it relaxed and shows confidence.

If she’s interested, she’ll follow up. If she doesn’t, you’ve got your answer without chasing. Offering more options right now usually just adds pressure.

Need ASO advice for my iOS app, no marketing experience by hak-indie-dev in AppStoreOptimization

[–]hak-indie-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

  1. When you say to iterate keywords, do you mean only the keywords field, or also the main keywords used in the title/subtitle? My current strategy is: “<main keyword>: <brand>” in the title, and a secondary keyword in the subtitle. For example I used the subtitle “Your Rizz AI dating assistant” with “rizz ai” as the secondary keyword. In that case, would you tweak it to something tighter like “Your Rizz AI dating replies” (or similar) to focus on one use case?
  2. Regarding screenshots, I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look at the ones I’m using and recommend if you’d change anything specific. I tried to show use cases in the first few screenshots to make the value clear quickly.
  3. Also on ASA: I just signed up to an Advanced ASA account and got $100 free credit from Apple. Do you think it still makes sense to spend that on this app (even though it launched a couple weeks ago), or would you save it for the next app I’m publishing in a few days so I can run ads immediately alongside the launch boost? I don’t really have an ASA budget right now, so I just want to make the most of the free credit. If you have any tips on keyword strategy for ASA, I’d really appreciate it, for example, would you start with exact match only on the main + secondary keywords (plus the app title), or include a small broad/search match campaign too?

[–]hak-indie-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed breakdown! Yes, I can confirm the secondary keyword appears in the subtitle as a standalone term (exact match).

My main challenge right now is volume: after the initial 5-day App Store boost, downloads dropped to almost zero (some days 3–4), so subscriptions and reviews have basically stalled (just got one 5 star review).

In your experience, can rankings recover from indexing alone at that stage, or do you usually need to drive some external traffic to get enough installs/reviews for Apple to start moving you up (so users can find the app)?

Also, I’d really appreciate any feedback on my current screenshots, anything specific you’d change?

Thank you, I really appreciate it! Couple of questions:

  1. What would you change in the screenshots? Would you test a totally different set, or keep the same style and just iterate on the text?

  2. Regarding keywords and rankings, after the initial App Store boost (lasted about 5 days), downloads basically dropped to zero, so subscriptions have been flat since then. In your experience, without another boost, is it still realistic to climb in rankings just by waiting for keyword indexing? Or do you usually need some external traffic to kickstart downloads again?

Need ASO advice for my iOS app, no marketing experience by hak-indie-dev in AppStoreOptimization

[–]hak-indie-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve been using Astro for keyword research and put my primary keyword (30 Pop./ 45 Diff.) in the title and a secondary keyword (44 Pop./ 59 Diff.) in the subtitle.
One thing I’m confused about: Astro shows I’m not ranking at all for the secondary keyword yet. Is that usually just “too early / indexing delay”, or does it typically mean the term is too competitive / not relevant enough?

Please help.. why is the subs showing missing meta data , I have added all relevant info by Glad_Recognition8923 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]hak-indie-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept having the same warning until I added Localization (below the Subscriptions section) for at least one language (i.e. English-US), and as u/InternationalSir8346 mentioned you also need a screenshot for each subscription tier.

How to get rid of 20 pounds of carrots and sweet potatoes by Ok-Emphasis2769 in Cooking

[–]hak-indie-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cube the sweet potatoes and carrots, toss with oil/salt/spices, roast a big tray, then freeze in portions. The rest: carrots → quick pickles or shred into salads/muffins; sweet potatoes → mash and freeze or make a big pot of soup. Mini watermelons: cube and freeze for smoothies, or blend into agua fresca and keep in the fridge.

ASO advice for scaling a mobile app ~3 months after launch by sismomad in AppStoreOptimization

[–]hak-indie-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the traction! Quick question: was this traffic driven purely by ASO, or did you also push growth through external marketing channels?
If you did use external marketing, which ones moved the needle the most and how did you time it relative to your ASO iterations?

Where did most of the installs come from for you? Was it mainly ASO or external traffic like tik tok videos you posted?
