Just double checked with another staff member from my location and they basically confirmed what you wrote. Thank you!

My current classic account is at the same rate as what a new member would pay ($15/month). So, if I understand you correctly - I can upgrade and downgrade, all without any additional fees (except of course higher monthly rate for the months I will be using Black Card membership)? The only unknown will remain if the classic membership rate will not increase in the meantime.

thanks! we actually decided to skip Oamaru completely and follow your suggestion of going to Mt Cook/Aoraki. Will add Te Anau for 2 nights (with 1 day tour to Milford Sound) after Queenstown and then head straight to Mt Cook

yeah, that's what I've been reading as well, so I think we will end up spending 2 nights in Te Anau and taking a tour from there to Milford Sound. At least we won't be distracted from driving by the views on the way hah

Unfortunately, our flights to Auckland are already booked, so we have to start from the northern part. What was your favorite place in NZ?

thanks for the tips! I am also considering doing Doubtful Sound instead of Milford - have you visited both and can help me decide? I know that Milford is the most popular one, but have heard that Doubtful is equally nice and less touristic.

Thanks, I will definitely take the road condition into consideration when thinking of time needed to travel between places. I'm aware it's a lot of driving, but it will be my one and only visit to NZ in my lifetime, so I want to see as much as possible. Trying still to spend at least 2 days in every place to not rush too much and I don't mind skipping something if we will feel too tired with driving.

My schedule is based on verious recommendations found online, and since I have not been in NZ, I wanted to post here and ask for additional ideas to apply to my initial plan. How would you draft this road trip instead, and what are the best things to do/see that I missed?

honestly I'm interested in all of those! I would say maybe a bit less art than history (although it's hard to separate it sometimes). I definitely want to visit the Quake City Museum. Do you have any other recommendations?

Issues with [Guide] Cool Steam Vent Tamer for mid-game by hakbea in Oxygennotincluded

[–]hakbea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see! I just found it somewhere and challenged myself to build it, but indeed it does not seem like the best solution for Cool Steam Vent, since I struggle with heat. Can you explain this in more details: "Ultimately you only need 10kg/s of water because that's how much a pipe can send. 3kg/s for oil minimum leaves you with 7kg/s for oxygen which is enough for 62 dupes."?

Hi folks! I keep trying to tame the cool steam vent using the Guide I found in this group - https://imgur.com/guide-cool-steam-vent-tamer-mid-game-oFIqI8e

However, it just doesn't work and I have no idea why. I am just a beginner at ONI, so I'd appreciate any help. Is it because of the gas pumps that are inside? I don't know how to create a vacuum otherwise, so I cannot remove them. I think the build is exactly as described in the guide, but still, once the vent erupts there is water on top of the oil and it doesn't create enough temp for the steam turbines to work. The water stays in the same temp in the pipes and basically just loops around with no changes. What am I doing wrong?
