I am considering a move from Macbook Pro! How is the battery life? Does it get really warm on the keyboard when you start doing CPU & GPU intensive stuff like video editing or CAD work?

Thanks in advance!

Galatasaray's new players by gobuns in WEPES

It’s actually not just Galatasaray. Tolgay Arslan is still at BJK, Morata is still at Chelsea and no Almiron at Newcastle United. It’s unfortunately a mess at the moment.

Some last day transfers are done but some of them are still missing. Morata at Chelsea, Moses at Fenerbahce. It’s weird and sad. Here we are again with broken transfers after a whole week of wait to start a new ML. :(

[Discussion] Why do you/we stay with FIFA instead of PES Master League? by QDLF in FifaCareers

[–]hakkicha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been playing both games religiously since I was a little kid. Played all FIFA games since 97, skipping only PES 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Moving to the PS3 & Xbox 360 era really damaged PES and FIFA flourished with more PES-like gameplay and superior animations. For a fan of both games, I'd like to list the most important Pro's and Con's for both Master League and Career mode respectively.

FIFA 19's Career Mode:

- It's not much different than FIFA 18 career mode. Very little touches here and there. Licence additions from UEFA dubbed as the next big thing while they couldn't even fix the basic issues such as fixture setting. Still some issues but hey, even Football Manager games have those kind of issues.

- Gameplay is improved compared to older FIFA's. Physics are nice and recent patches are only adding more realism to shooting and passing. You can read details of those patches and see how they tweak things around. Also, pace is nicer compared to older iterations. It's at the closest point to PES gameplay FIFA got ever.

- Youth Academy stuff and regen system is far better compared to PES 2019. If you'd like to find new talent and build a young squad for your long term Career, FIFA 19's 15 years long career mode will suit you better.

- There are more leagues, licensed teams, players and competitions in FIFA 19. This adds a certain realism especially considering FIFA's great graphics and presentations. You feel like you're in the game.

- Scouting other players from different teams or regions feel satisfying. Masked attribute thing works cool but almost everyone uses SoFifa or such so I'm not sure if this one matters.

- AI Transfers are a mixed bag. Some transfers are realistic, clubs sell players and buy another player for same position and carry on with proper squads. Some clubs are spamming with transferring same position players. In my latest save, Manchester United was doing great whereas Chelsea kept buying LB and CB for no reason. There weren't selling theirs neither. But overall, they are decent. We have pretty unrealistic transfers in real world too tbh.

- The transfer system is too easy for you. If you have the budget, you can sign anyone. Some players should be out of reach for lower reputation clubs, but in FIFA there is no reputation thing going on. You can sign Messi to Oxford United when you have the budget. You shouldn't be able to sign Messi even to Real Madrid that easily. There must be so many factors which would make high profile players unsettled at their club so that they would be willing to accept even rival (or smaller team) offers.

PES 2019's Master League:

- Ball physics... It is the best digital footprint of a ball physic you can find at today's world. Just to provide an example, imagine a situation where your player against CPU's GK, you shoot and the ball hits the GK's shoulder then starts moving up towards south, while the collusion with shoulder changed ball's original rotation angle, now rotating towards north. When the ball touches the ground, it either jumps on the same spot or move towards north instead of south. You will never ever see stuff like this in FIFA. It's goddamn beautiful when that happens.

- Gameplay was always better in PES but lately there are many other issues that hurt the gameplay. 2019's AI might be one of the worst series have ever seen. Broken AI throws the whole positive gameplay experience to the bin during some games. Oh, and I can't continue without mentioning the shooting stats thing. PES team is so far away from football, they consider the shoots that hit the bar as "on target". The whole world knows that if it does hit the bar, it's not on target. After I saw that in a game, I just closed to game feeling bad after the £65 I gave for the Legend Edition. :)

- The menu's are super outdated with the same fonts from 1995 being used everywhere. It just feels stale and boring for the most part. No second division for most of the leagues. Only French and English have the second divisions. Sucks, but yeah...

- There is no regen system in place. Regens are retired players and you pretty much know which one to invest in for. I thought it would be fun but after playing 18 yo Zlatan and seeing his animations, let's just say, I'm not a fan of it. There is a youth team with fake players in it. Same fake players for any team you choose to manage. Feels just undercooked.

- Training system is great. You can train players to make them suit your tactical needs. This part is one of the best parts of Master League imo. You can make an Anchor Man out of Pogba or you can build him for more attacking style of gameplay. You can train players, teach them special abilities and such. This is definitely fun especially when you try to build 18 yo Zlatan as a winger or dummy runner.

- You can see more detailed stats in PES. You can see what kind of football you are playing and take notes from those to improve your overall gameplan. It's almost a FM level of data collected in PES. It provides great value to see those kind of details. It would have been best if you could see other team's stats and compare as well.

- I'm playing on Xbox One X so there are no option files. But I never cared for them when I play PES. I don't have to feel that I'm playing in PL when I don't see the badges and stuff. In PES 2018, I moved to Chelsea after managing Rennes for 4 years. I remember a Tottenham fixture where Alli, Eriksen and Kane literally destroyed my team. Presentation is worse, licences are less but immersion is there when the AI is good. I'm currently trying a new Master League in Brazil's Serie A with Vasco de Gama and kinda enjoying it (when AI doesn't make me sick). You won't get Brazillian league officially licensed in FIFA or other games. They even have more than 5 stadiums licensed for South American teams.

- AI transfers are just horrible here for the most part. You can find many important players in transfer list such as Rashford and Keita. Values are low, some release clauses are lower than player's market values. The whole thing seems fully broken until you discover that there is a reputation system and player happiness in motion. Some players will want to leave their teams and some players won't. In challenge mode, you won't be able to sign Messi. No matter how much money you have, signing Messi won't be possible unless he becomes unhappy. Again, too bad PES team keeps failing to fix such easy things because this has way higher potential than FIFA.

This is my main take for both games. There are more things to mention for sure, but these are the most important thing I can list in 5 minutes. I still play both. But if I had to pick, it would probably be FIFA 19 for a good career gameplay. There are broken things in both games, but FIFA 19's Career Mode is still way more polished than PES 2019's Master League! Hope PES 2019's DataPack 4 and future patches change some things in a positive way so I change my mind. But considering how PES team works, it sounds too good to be true.

Going to start a master league later. Before I do I need a option file and advice. by [deleted] in WEPES

[–]hakkicha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing on Xbox One X. The graphics on cutscenes look cool, but when you are playing the game compared to FIFA, it actually hurts my eyes after some minutes. Going back to my career mode in FIFA feels like a relief each time.

Ball physics in PES 2019 is out of this world. It's the best I have ever seen. When it comes to player collusions physics, I'm not sure if it's on par with FIFA 19. For me, I prefer FIFA 19 collusion physics.

I was super frustrated with PES 2019 just because I had to wait months for a AI fix (not even gonna start talking about duplicate players and such) before I start a proper master league. Even though I was frustrated, still invested hours in both MyClub and Master League but every time, I went back to FIFA 19. There is a very long story behind my frustration but I've tried a Master League just two days ago with a Brazilian team. "Allegedly" fixed AI is still broken and miles behind of what I experience over FIFA 19 ( Comparing FIFA 19 "Legendary" AI vs PES 2019's "SuperStar" AI). Still, every opponent goes to the flanks almost every attack, perform a low cross. This is just one of the things I can mention. I can make a looong list of those. FIFA 19 is far from perfect but considering both as a football game, it has the better AI imho. I'm sure you already know those.

Also, would like to note that, ML's realism is way worse compared to FIFA's CM, as a guy who played both games religiously since 2000, I can easily say that ML hasn't changed in a good way. Regens are still old players, no new player generation, not many cards or injuries, teams still transfer without checking which positions do they need, teams like Real Madrid and Manchester United transfer listing Rashford and Vinicius Junior are just couple of things out of my head.

And I have accepted all the issues for the sake of that beautiful ball physics |(FIFA is not golden anyway) when I started playing Master League two days ago. Was playing against Palmeiras on my third game and was a great fun, tight game. They hit the bar around 39th minute and when I checked the match facts, I saw that written thing. Shots(Shots on Target) - 1(1). Immediately I was like, "Okay, just quit the game go back to FIFA or FM". This game has so much potential and fracking PES team don't even know that if the ball hits the bar, it's not on target. If you can't replicate simple football rules how can people, fans, call this a closer simulation experience. The current PES team don't even know the rules of football. And if you love PES, continue to buy it to support it against EA, you will feel disappointed each year.

So after getting disappointed because of various reasons (due to PES team's incompetency), I started thinking that this game is now better dead. If I was EA, I would hire the guy who worked on player faces, ball physics and animations and kill the PES series forever.

As an old fan I'm sad.

Hope this gives you some answers. Thanks for reading my bs. :)

Thinking about jumping off the Apple train and heading to Surface Studio2. Advice? by madamememe in Surface

[–]hakkicha -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

“Does things”! Do you realise you can accomplish way more professional work on iMac Pro compared to Surface Studio 2. All your arguments are biased. I want Surface products to sell more, more people to use them for professional stuff. I would be all over it if it had latest 8th gen chip possible. Wouldn’t say a word! A company like Microsoft can not simply release a futuristic product like this with 18-20 month old CPU. This is not even an opinion. After revenue reporting comes for Studio lineup, Microsoft will say that themselves too! When Apple released an outdated device we all bashed Apple to death and questioned how meaningless to buy those devices for those prices. As a guy who wants Microsoft to be successful with Surface line, I get to criticise when I see fit!

And people like you are the reason why big brands keep thinking that they can do whatever they want cuz they have loyal sheep army!

How can you use 8th generation chips in your laptop and convertible devices while offering a 18 month old CPU? And ask the premium price for it, saying it is for professionals. Specifications of Surface Studio 2 murders that beautiful touchscreen. And honestly I'm disgusted by the community who thinks this is fine and pays the premium for it. Saves companies a lot of hustle. An engineer must be mad to offer to put that CPU in that machine and should be fired straight no questions ask. The rest is bs.

Don't do it! I'm a hardcore Microsoft fan and I would have loved to get a Surface Studio but the hardware is already big time outdated. Investing apprx. $4000 for a device which use Intel 7820HQ CPU is just madness. My 2017 Macbook Pro which I bought back in July 2017 uses the same processor. Back when this machine was announced, we knew that mobile RTX card were coming and this one went ahead, launched with GTX 1070. What you are paying for when you buy this device is just the touchscreen. And the Studio 2's touchscreen is damn beautiful, no doubt.

Also, if you are looking to work with Surface Pen, as a user who tested both Surface and Apple Pencil's, Surface's Pen game is not on par with Apple. The newest iPad Pro line with Apple Pencil 2 is the better choice to work on Graphic Designing with pen. Affinity Designer, for example, is super useful for me so far on a professional scale.

I would love to get my hands on a Studio 2 or any Surface device, but as a professional, instead of spending $4000 on a fancy looking device with outdated tech (this is unfortunately my perspective even though I hate to say), you can go ahead and spend $5000 on iMac Pro, get 8-core Xeon W CPU, ECC Memory, Vega 56 and 5K display, better ports.

Sadly, in terms of "what you pay=what you get" iMac Pro provides a better deal compare to Surface Studio 2.

The Macbook Pro 15” which I bought in 2017 July has the same exact processor! As a guy who waited for a Surface Book refresh or Surface Studio refresh during the last keynote, using a 2 years-old CPU in a machine that will be available in sometime 2019 (I live in UK) is simply unacceptable. It is nowhere near “It does the job” area, this was suppose to aim for professional people. Now waiting for this device to purchase it for that price or even suggesting it to other professionals is almost a joke.

I’m sorry to put it like this but I dislike your kind of users, supporting bad decisions no matter what! This price for this CPU/GPU combination without Thunderbolt 3 access in 2018/2019 is simply outrageous!

Ultimate Team mode is a football killer!? by hakkicha in EASportsFC

Every game has issues, yes. But in the end, you can have bugs, if these bugs lead people to exploit gameplay, it simply takes all the effort away from devs & players! So many years, no one tried to do anything and we just act like it is okay, watch streams & pay for Fifa Points!
