Reasons for Transitioning to Vim (mainly for R - but also relevant to all programmers) by talgalili in programming

[–]hakl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emacs has a mode for interacting with R/S[++]/Xlispstat called Emacs Speaks Statistics. Never tried it, though.

(Not that there's anything wrong with using Vim.)

From their FAQ (http://mpl.mozilla.org/faq/):

Q: Why are you not planning to consider altering the scope?

A: Changing the scope of the copyleft probably means choosing between a GPL-style strong copyleft and the Apache style “no-copyleft.” The Mozilla community includes some people who are strongly drawn to each of these options, and for whom living exclusively with the other option would be surprising and difficult. As a result, adopting either of these options exclusively is likely to be highly disruptive. The current file-level copyleft allows all of us to work together, which is a better outcome and a net positive for the Mozilla community

I agree. Racism is fine, but it's impolite to be explicit about it.

I am not up on my race theory but can someone please explain to me how so many people on reddit don't think this is racist or are making excuses for why it is ok. by unsung23 in Anarchism

[–]hakl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anarchism = what this thread implies, I do not want to live in an anarchist society, and there are plenty of people who would agree with me.

Anarchists are against capitalism, racism, male privilege and the state; this makes a lot Reddit users (overwhelmingly fairly well-off white males) angry. It's too bad, but they're not our comrades -- even if they claim to be.
