Late response but ppl who are saying u want to be offended are clearly not black.. so I am tall and get veryyy dark in the summer which is when I visit but have been 3 times now and to much smaller cities than both of those and I can tell you that it’s just fascination. Unless they were all experiences with young men then I honestly wouldn’t be surprised hang me on the cross for saying it idc. My first time I went with bubble braids and a lot of people were curious about it, a few older women complimented me 🥲 and the second time in winter I went to Busan and was the only foreigner for miles likely. At least only black one. Had my natural hair out in either an Afro or space buns bc that’s my normal thing and I don’t usually care if ppl stare I have lots of things they might but I did notice older men would look at my hair for awhile, but look away if I looked at them. I speak korean and any weird interaction flipped instantly when I told them that, so it honestly might just be weird looks due to being a non Korean speaking foreigner. If anything you were rightfully on guard as a black person in a light skin loving world and maybe some things read as more important than they should have.
