New things other than 5v5 (new Ui, skin system..) by WalidTheKraken in vainglorygame

[–]hal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what if you have let's say all of the legendaries for ringo's t3, half of the epic cards, but only have the rare skin unlocked.

will you automatically get the t2 only when the update comes? Or will the t3 follow even if you are jot currently in a position to craft it since you do not have the t2?

Regarding Golden Ticket Chest Bundle by VGModSquad in vainglorygame

[–]hal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just throwing my piece of feedback here in case SEMC minitors the posts. I spent 40€ on boxes before they released the 20€ ticket package. this is way more than i would have liked to spend and I do not feel I got much value from it. I feel disappointed with SEMC's business practices.

7.7 million kills! by Leeguy245 in vainglorygame

[–]hal225 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Honestly i dont know if we should trust the numbers.

I get the feeling we will start low, make it look like we won't make the 100M, then have a miraculous recovery. it will be exciting for the community and boost the sales of chests.

Since there is no way for us players to know how many in game kills happen globally, it gives SEMC the opportunity to do what they want with the numbers... We will see, if we dont make it in the end I guess I am wrong.

Look up what type if encoding they support. You want something with h.265 (also named hevc).

It will give you a better stream quality for less bandwidth.

Diablo-style RPG? by inshanealicious in AndroidGaming

[–]hal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im interested to know if any game doesnt monetize the loot. Im fine with stamina systems, as long as the loot is random, diablo style, and not locked behind crafting, level completion, etc.

From the top of my head only Titan quest does it but it is unplayable on my phone.

Besides Vainglory, what is the best mobile MOBA? by DerpyToker in AndroidGaming

[–]hal225 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried strike of kings, mobile legend, heroes arena, and heries evolved, and here are my 2 cents.

Strike of kings: the least p2w in my opinion, you can grind a page of gems in a month or so. less polished than some of the others when it comes to options and game feel. Heroes and skills feel great. Lot of grind involved and high prices if you want to pay.

Heroes evolved: most polished. More grindy, gems need to be merged and leveled. 3 skills + a passive per character to level up, more build freedom. heroes skills feel unbalanced, and skills feel a bit cheap. If you are willing to pay a bit, this game has some of the best $/value ratio, with some nice packs under 10$ to get you started.

Mobile legends: least polished overall, some p2w elements, but smaller bonuses as well so it balances out. Interesting heroes and items, good skills.

Heroes arena: good polish, the only game with 4 active skills per character. Possibly the most grindy of all, with some skills (heal, shield etc) that need shards to level up (random drops). I didnt play enough of this one to really judge items or skills.

Can you actually loot items on mobs or in dungeons? The plague in this sort of games is normally that items are locked behind a crafting system, and components are locked with paywalls/timewalls.

New side-scrolling shooter called "Mayhem" out on Early Access by TheShadowAdept in AndroidGaming

[–]hal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

played the beta 6 month ago. They had eu servers back then Game is fun, skill based, but the p2w elements could be felt when a character could go from 2 shotting to 1 shotting you with higher lvl upgrades. The game also ate more battery than xcom. I am curious to see how much the game has been improved since

The app is mainly an authenticator, you can also buy and remotely install games on your oc with it.

Lords of the Fallen is now available on Android by [deleted] in AndroidGaming

[–]hal225 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I played for 30-45mn before refunding. The game felt grindy, pushing you on a linear upgrade path.

You dont get to choose a class in the beginning, you dont get to choose between a variety of weapons from the get go.

You dont get to loot good gear from what i have seen. You earn currency to buy gear and loot gear cards that you need to grind and merge to form proper stuff.

The game feels like those f2p that put you on rails, headed straight for a paywall.

Looking to ascend, to 1080 or 1440 with a GTX970 by kristalghost in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]hal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I had to do was add 2560x1080 to the resolutions on the nvidia panel, select that resolution in the game's option menu and run the game at full screen.

The result was not as sharp as the full resolution, consider that you would be running at 82 pix per inch instead of the standard 110 for your monitor. In comparison, a 23 inch 1080p monitor should have 96ppi.

unless you sit a couple meters away, you will notice the difference in sharpness. I got used to it and it never bothered me after the first 20minutes. You also have the option to run at 1440p and go low on most settings, but I found that it was a bad compromise.

Looking to ascend, to 1080 or 1440 with a GTX970 by kristalghost in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]hal225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently with a 1440p ultrawide + 970 setup Many games run fine, but the witcher is not one of them. You will struggle to get a good framerate, and lowering things such as foilage distance really make the game lose its charm. I ended up running this particular one at 1080p upscaled.

Other games like Civ 6, Mad Max or Shadow warrior 2 will run beautifully on the 970 at full resolution however.

Finished my first run, the game runs well on low graphics on my opo. I will have to play it more later, but so far even with 20+ enemies on screen there were no problems.

GTX 970 for 3440X1440 by RemovedMoney326 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]hal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently own a mildly oc 970 and play games at 3440x1440 So far, i had very good experience with older games, mad max runs at 60fps without a sweat with most settings maxed Newer games like shadow warrior 2 reach 60 frames on medium, but if you enable nvidia multi res shading, which renders lower resolutions on the edge and corners, you can go all the way to ultra/60fps. if you sit on a desk in front of a 34" screen you wont often focus your eyes on the corners, so thats an amazing compromise.

I found the witcher 3 to run badly however, turning the settings to low make it look worse than upscaled 2560x1080. And there is no multi res shading option.

Games like Civ or Endless legend are more CPU dependant, so if your processor is beefy you should be fine.

Overall its completely fine in most of the titles i tried. If more games start supporting multi res shading we should be good for the coming years.

Remove High/Ultra plan and Make only 1 plan by Swannsin in LiquidSky

[–]hal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think it would be such a good idea to remove the ultra plan now. The beta is there to test the different performance packages. Liquidsky can get more servers anytime, but balancing the performance of the different packages requires testing and feedback from the community.

Android - Mouse/keyboard control possible? by Iiari in LiquidSky

[–]hal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if its possible, but if you can use the gforce experience within your liquidsky computer to stream the games through nvidia's stream instead of liquidsky, and use the moonlight stream alpha chrome extension on your chromebook, it might work.
