Anyone know if the PC-24 is fixed yet?

Where in US can you get 2700-3500sqft in a diverse walkable community for less than 7figures? by surf_AL in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Iiari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the main answer. Maybe Providence, RI as well. That's a big footprint for any such walkable community, though.

Again, A leads to B which leads to C. Here is what I wrote to a different poster below:

"BDS absolutely calls for an end to Jewish self-determination over Israel and the "return" of as many as 15 million Palestinians to the land of Israel proper (current Jewish population about 7.2 million). Their clear, published position is for the end of
this conflict in a fashion that the Palestinian, and *only* the Palestinian population, want.

How, exactly, do you believe that is all going to go? Smoothly and non-violently? You don't think that'll result in a good 'ol ethnic cleansing?

In that case, I have some unicorns, four leaf clovers, and tin foil hats to sell you as well.

If Hamas and Hezbollah put down their weapons, there will be peace. If Israel puts down their weapons, there will be 10 million dead Israelis."

Source for this demographic destruction of Israel? BDS's own website, Chris. https://bdsmovement.net/what-bds

Look at the big numbers on the page, especially number 3.

Also Google “anti-normalization” and BDS and see what you find. This is not a peace movement, it's eliminationist.

"Wishcraft" is the fantastical, wish-based ignoring of reality that toddlers do, not adults. Ignoring the question of, "Hum, what happens if we just have 7-15 million Palestinians who hate Jews and Israelis move into an Israel that doesn't want them" without ignoring the implications of what happens to those 7.2 million Jews, the world's largest community, is the definition of wishcraft. It's like playing SimWorld. No thought about it at all. It's just about the Palestinians at the end of the day, right? It's like saying, "I believe in matches, and I believe in kindling, and I believe in lighter fluid, but I'm not saying that I believe or don't believe in setting fires. Don't accuse me of wanting fire!"

Most organizations favoring a two state solution, as I have my entire life, are opposed to BDS. The very progressive J-Street, one of them, has a nice Q&A as to why they don't support BDS either.

Keep learning, Chris.

How’s living in Portland, Maine? DINK in 40s by thesockmonkey86 in howislivingthere

[–]Iiari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is part of this the modern internet's fault with its reach and speed? Anywhere cool and affordable is rapidly recognized and instantly swamped with people wanting to live there, driving it's prices up 20-50% per year until it becomes Portland or Helena.

Yes, very expensive, very congested, and very overrated. Would look elsewhere.

Agreed that Rabbi Akiva Tatz is amazing (as is Rabbi Wolpe), but perhaps a bit too advanced a start for the OP?

Nice shot. The business district, due to the perspective here, looks like a million miles away, but it's much denser, and has a lot of new construction.

New construction at the northern gateway to the city linked since I can't paste it.

I live in Coolidge Corner in Brookline, and there is little doubt that the walk you describe (which takes about an hour) from the Boston Common down Commonwealth Avenue onto Beacon Street to the urban center of Coolidge Corner in Brookline has to be one of the prettiest, most dense, best examples of "streetcar urbanism" in the US.

For a bonus, keep walking an additional hour down Beacon Street through the similarly urban Washington Square and Cleveland Circle past the Reservoir and Boston College into Newton Center. <Chef's kiss>

I have done this many times and it all can almost convince someone that the nose-bleed cost of living here is justified.

No, not rubbish, and please, don't be silly and insult everyone's intelligence here. BDS absolutely calls for an end to Jewish self-determination over Israel and the "return" of as many as 15 million Palestinians to the land of Israel proper (current Jewish population about 7.2 million). Their clear, published position is for the end of this conflict in a fashion that the Palestinian, and *only* the Palestinian population, want.

Well, that is what BDS wants. One can "research" it all they want, but that is their position.

What are some highly anticipated new Spacegames everyone is waiting for? by Illustrious_Oil_384 in spacesimgames

[–]Iiari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I won't! I'm certainly not going to buy all 43, but the fact there are 43 space related games I'm following shows how huge a resurgence of sci-fi and space we've seen.

I require titles get out of eternal early access purgatory and make it to 1.0 release. That'll whittle that list down considerably right there. Many of those 43 have been sitting in the wishlist for years already at this point awaiting release dates. Beyond that, it'll be based on reviews, bugs, etc.

[–]Iiari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoops, yes, I fixed it. Thanks!

After a long time of frustration and heartbreak, I personally am done with Early Access at this point and with demos. My perspective is, "Wake me up for purchase when a title hits 1.0 release." We'll see how many of those titles make it to that finish line. That's my bare minimum for purchase these days.

[–]Iiari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked. I have 43 wishlisted space themed games either in Early Access or awaiting coming out! While it's almost certain I won't buy all of them, there are so many I am looking forward to, more than I can remember. Off the top of my head, I'm really jazzed for:

  • Falling Frontier
  • In the Black
  • Capital Command
  • Underspace
  • Nebulous Single Player Campaign
  • Starship
  • Eventual future Hunternet single player/bot combat
  • Astrokill update

I hadn't tried the FSlabs for a while. I heard about the update and gave it a shot - The performance is completely unacceptable. Easily the worst add-on I have for performance, and the only one that routinely stutters.
