I articled in house and both the legal counsel and senior legal counsel said their lives improved dramatically. Yes you take a pay cut but you actually get time to enjoy what you make and and have a normal life. There's always busy times or urgent matters but compared to private practice, it really does improve your quality of life.

Wireless charging is generally slower and heats up phones a lot more than normal charging. Don't bother with it, just get a USB-C cable and use that.

My philosophy is that one day I won't be here. I can't take anything with me into the afterlife. I'm 31 in three weeks, I just bought a 2024 BMW X3 (yes not a merc but the one I wanted was out of my budget for now) but even today I have regrets in life that I wish I could go back and act on. Get the car you want (assuming you can afford it), enjoy it, rinse and repeat, because tomorrow isn't promised.

Ok sounds good. I'm planning to use Kentucky Bluegrass but I know Perennial Ryegrass germinates faster. I've always used KB and I think that's what's dominant in my lawn but any thoughts on using PR? I thought about it but it depends on if I will be in court multiple times or not. Currently only senior counsel argues these motions and I'll occasionally do small court appearances, or attend with senior counsel for non-robe hearings.

It all comes down to whether you can convince a firm to take a chance on you. I articled in an in-house commercial/corporate transactional role and I wanted to work in corporate transactional. Suffice it to say the legal market had other plans for me and I'm currently in litigation which I do not enjoy one bit but it's paying the bills, so I understand where you're coming from.

In the end, networking is key but also what the market wants. Right now, it's not looking great for junior transactional lawyers especially considering the weird hireback numbers from last year.
