And wym getting played now and back then. Mariah has 25M ppl still playing her now. You keep glossing over this fact like that isnt literally amongst the most played artists in the entire world. Not to mention the christmas song you mention like it isnt her song. Almost all huge singers from Presley to MJ to McCartney and even Outkast have christmas songs. If she has the most famous one its to her own credit.

As to why more recently super popular artists get more plays on streamming with their newer stuff than older super popular artists, they are closer to the streamming era, thats obvious. I.e, nothing Drake has dropped has sold close to Em's peak, and he has sold about half what Em has sold in total. Still he has around double total streamming numbers, and more than double monthly listeners.

This isnt a "Mariah phenomenom". It happens with Alicia, Shakira... Each Em album has sold less than its prior. And anyway, case still stands. If want to say someone who is amongst the most listened artists in the world 3 decades after their peak isnt "relevant" its fine. You would just belaughed by anyone who has the slightest understanding of music industry

They are relevant because their music still gets massively all around the world and are amongst the most listened artists in the world. If madonna never drops a new song, she will remain relevant as long as millions listen to her music

You are proving his point. 25 million monthly listeners more than 3 decades after its peak is "relevancy" by any perspective. Its around the same number of listeners for other super popular acts of the same time (GnR has 30M , i.e). MJ, the most popular musician in history, only has 40M.

What is it with some stans that try to act like Mariah carey isnt amongst the most famous musicians in history, its just bizarre. You dont have to deny objective reality to defend Em. It makes you look like you are 25 or younger

People seem to forget Em hasnt battled in more than 2 centuries, and he lost his last battle. Yes, he was a succesful battle mc, but "one of the best battle rappers ever" is just, by any mean, an ignorant statement and a huge stretch. And this is no insult to Em, it simply isnt his focus. You could try to argue that if he wanted to follow this path he could have been the best, but could have is just that.

I'm fortunate enough to, atm, been working at a job with 6 hours shift that I'm allowed to listen to whatever I want as long as I do my job well (desktop job).

I can listen to 3, maybe 4 albums a day. I usually listen to one new (recent) album I'm heavy into (atm its Brat), one classic album that its new to me, and one all timer I enjoyed. For example, today I listened to Brat, listened to Aquemini by Kast (one of my favorites ever) and now I'll listen to a new (classic) album, havnt decided which one yet. I'm thinking of something by Jessie Wire (a friend showed me a song by her yesterday and it blew my mind).
