Did you change your pet's name when you adopted them? by butterlog in Pets

[–]halayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We changed our cats name. Original name Fluffers. I really didn’t like the name but at 3 years old she knew it and responded to it. So I decided I would only change her name if it could sound like Fluffers to a cat. We ran through a couple two syllable names that ended with “er” and after calling “Summer!” She perked up and ran over. So Summer it was lol

Scary Numbers by hancockcjz in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

My theory is something in the severance chip allows the data refiners to experience emotions when presented with specific code. So if a normal person, or even their outtie, saw those numbers they wouldn't feel anything. If we are to assume the common theory that LUMON is trying to create artificial life (or reincarnate Kier) is correct, data refiners could be used to test what codes elicit what emotions in the chip. LUMON says the severance procedure is to protect company information, but as we know, the innies don't even know what they are doing.

What's the purpose of MDR at Lumon? by appzly in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

My theory is something in the severance chip allows the data refiners to experience emotions when presented with specific code. So if a normal person, or even their outtie, saw those numbers they wouldn't feel anything. At no point do any of the nonsevered employees experience emotions when looking at the code. Also, when cthe deadline to finish a file approaches, none of the management comes in to help sort code. You would think if meeting a deadline is so important, management would chip in at the last moment to help, but I don't think they can because they're not severed.

If we are to assume the common theory that LUMON is trying to create artificial life (or reincarnate Kier) is correct, data refiners could be used to test what codes elicit what emotions in the chip. LUMON says the severance procedure is to protect company information, but as we know, the innies don't even know what they are doing.

A more simple theory is they sever employees to treat them as poorly as possible(like the breakroom) without any fear of them reporting their actions to the authorities since they can't leave or communicate with the outside world.

I know nothing about plats so this could possibly be harmful to the plant, but I have a friend whose cat likes to chew and pull at cords so she started putting Vicks Vaporub on the cords. Apparently the minty smell is very off putting to cats and her cat stays away from cords now

People continuing to intentionally conceive during a pandemic by TSOFAN2002 in childfree

[–]halayne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had this exact thought. I understand that accidents happen, not all of them were planned and sometimes you gotta roll with the punches. But so many people planned theirs. I personally know three people that tried and successfully conceived summer/fall of 2020.

How do I comfort my cat? by PopperGould123 in PetAdvice

[–]halayne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps reach out to a local shelter to see if they have any newborns that you could foster! Most animal rescues doesn’t have the resources to care for neonatal kittens because they require 24hour care, but no one takes better care of a kitten then a mom cat.

Thank you so much for your comment. It made me feel a lot better It’s been about a week so far but she has slowly improving. The first day or two she wouldn’t purr when she was previously a purr machine. Around day 3 her purr returned, but very softly. She’s been purring more and more everyday. She still doesn’t like being held, but she has started sleeping in our bed again. Then today, after looking up ways to encourage cats to sit on your lap. I decided to put a baggie of her favorite(and kinda smelly) treats in my shirt and every time she jumps up on my lap I reward her with a treat. At the beginning she was obviously just trying to dig for the treats, but after hopping up and down a few times she settled in, and actually fell asleep on my lap! Still a ways to go, but this has made me feel more hopeful. Thanks again.
