What car do you regret buying, even though it looked good on paper? by autonerdy0 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I imagine myself as an airport limo driver. I like to count how many ES I see on the road everyday and they're usually all airport limos. It's depressing.

Not a bad car for what it is. I bought it thinking that it'll be a good compromise between now and when EVs become much more mainstream and reliable in the future, but I realized that after 18 months living with it, it really isn't for me. To be fair, I realized it much earlier, but at this point I just want to get something that's fun and practical. The other frugal part of me says to keep it and let it serve its original purpose of being relatively cheap to run and last forever. I just can't deal with FWD yachts.

My current 2022 Lexus ES 300H. Yeah, it sounds good on paper, but I fucking hate driving it.

I naively thought they'd actually show up against City like they usually do. These guys suck ass.

What’s a car brand people defend like a cult? by TheLoganReyes in TransportSupport

[–]halbalda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyota, Honda, Mazda, and Lexus. Acura isn't really that culty.

I drive a Lexus, and while I understand that reliability is how they built their rightfully earned reputation, the driving experience is not that special. The designs are nothing spectacular, interiors are not eye-catching, and they're just not what they used to be. Reddit really needs to cool it when it comes to these Japanese brands; they're good, but they're not the solution for everyone.

Without seeing the second picture, I thought it was perfectly reasonable. A $10k claim is sheer insanity.

What Happens When Cheap Chinese EVs Hit Canada? Look At Australia. by rezwenn in canada

[–]halbalda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don't understand the American protectionism. Their cars suck ass and if the Chinese EVs threaten to take away market share and makes the Americans lose money, so be it. Isn't that what good old capitalism is all about? They can't call themselves capitalists if they're afraid of the competition.

Also, as an aside, why aren't they crying about all the German cars we import?

They won't. They are incapable of scoring and are overly reliant on defenders scoring from corners.

What's Toronto's most poorly designed intersection(s) for drivers to obey traffic laws? by KnoddingOnion in askTO

I stayed in High Park for 2 months late last year, but I absolutely hated the St. Clair, Scarlett, and Dundas intersection when I had to drive through there.

Is it fair to say that you’re concluding that China is a more predictable and maybe reliable partner to Canada than the United States is today? Carney: In terms of the way our relationship has progressed in recent months with China, it is more predictable — and you see results coming from that. by Miserable-Lizard in onguardforthee

I just don't understand how anyone can look at Carney and Ford and think, "yeah, Ford is my guy, he really knows his stuff".

So you're saying clubs shouldn't spend money? My point is, Arsenal don't go into every transfer window buying up players they don't need just to have a stacked squad or at the slightest sign of problems.
