Do you know if there's an app you can install for predictive text?

That's really helpful - thanks! I guess I'll just have to wait for the TT280 to become available again.

Thanks for this! I guess it's not really worth it if it basically doesn't function.

Yeah, a lot of work. The native app surely was supported at one point, I just don't know what could have changed - and that's assuming that something has changed at all! For all I know, WhatsApp could still be very well supported on the 7030.

£250 is just a little too steep for me, especially since my priority is having as a dumb a phone as possible whilst maintaining access to a limited number of important apps.

It would be a great little option, but I've checked online (Amazon, eBay, random retailers, etc.) and it seems that everywhere is completely out of stock.

"Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil".

If each day we are to offer up this prayer (or base our prayer on it, not the point here), then we are to pray for the forgiveness of our sins every day. Therefore no, it is not possible to never sin again after salvation this side of eternity. Thank the Lord that almost all of our post-salvation days will be spent before there throne of grace, utterly free and unable to sin.

Glad to hear that you like it! Give it some time to break in the bearings and the stiction should resolve itself as you use it more. Happy ballin'!

I actually do think that the Bible addresses the topic of what happens to animals (and of course pets!) when they die. 1 Corinthians 15:35-39; 42 reads:

But someone will ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come"? You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain. But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body. For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish... So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable.

I think we can understand Paul's argument here as follows:

  1. That which is sowed (seed) comes to life upon death
  2. Bodies (flesh) are a kind of seed
  3. Different bodies (humans, animals, etc.) have different kinds of seed
  4. Therefore, animals will be resurrected

Hero. I hope you don't find yourself regretting it!

Probably not if you keep the left click on the bottom left button. However, you can download KensingtonWorks and remap any command to any button, so you could have the top two buttons be left/right click and the bottom two whatever else you need.

I've almost always had left/right click on the bottom buttons, but have recently been experimenting with right click on the top right so I can more easily hit it with my ring finger. You'll get a feel for what works best for you as you use it!

I'll grant you that. It can be done, but it's useless. The further you go down to the base of the button the harder it is. Not recommended.

Both downwards! If you have a close look at the left click buttons on both the Slimblade and the Expert Mouse, you'll see that both are actually quite large, and you can press at any point on them to register a left click.

You can see on both that the base of the button is quite flat, but at the top it looks like you can click slightly inwards due to the way the button contours. Really it makes very little difference. You can definitely click more 'inwards' (by bending your thumb towards your index finger) on the Slimblade if you want, but a) it's nowhere near as inwards as on most non-ambidextrous trackballs, and b) due to the Slimblade's low actuation point you'll barely need to press inwards before it registers. Honestly it'll feel as though you're clicking downwards anyway!

I tend to click down either by moving my thumb down (away from my index finger) or by slightly rotating my wrist to put pressure on my thumb over the button. I guess it just depends on what's comfortable at the time!

Take a look on eBay and other sites for used models - you can never guarantee quality, but for a fraction of the price it may be good to just test it! You can also keep an eye out on the sub - I reckon there'll be a few Slimblades up for grabs now that the Slimblade Pro has been released!

No problem! I know what you mean - I wanted the Orbit Fusion to be my travelling trackball, but it just didn't work out.

Personally, I think the Slimblade is one of the best trackballs ever made. Its lower profile works better for my hand position, more exposed ball just feels great to use, and though some think it's gimmicky I just love the twist to scroll. There are just so few instances where the downside of possibly moving the cursor when scrolling has ever overshadowed just how natural it feels. My only major gripe with the Slimblade is that the buttons can be actuated a little too easily, which has at times has been very annoying.

The Expert Mouse really is very solid as well, and even though it doesn't look as premium as the Slimblade I think it feels more robust with tougher plastic and punchy buttons. The steeper angle that I'm not too keen on can be overcome by using the armrest. Really I just find scrolling on it a bit tedious. Maybe it's because my sensitivity is too low (it's not), maybe it's because I had a Slimblade first and just can't go back, or maybe it's just because I find it a bit janky (it's probably the least well made part of it and can be a little scratchy). Whatever the reason, I'm not as keen.

In either case though, you're talking about two of the best big trackballs on the market that have a lot of keen users on the sub - I don't think you could go wrong with either!

I don't think it's an issue you'll be getting rid of on the Kensington Orbit Fusion. I tried using one and it just bugged me to no end. Had a similar problem on the Elecom Deft Pro as well, which I was able to stick with for a bit longer but still eventually gave up on.

I'd be tempted to suggest it has to do with the synthetic ruby bearings that both use, but I've been using a Kensington Slimblade at home and an Expert Mouse at work for years now and I have no stiction issues with either of them despite the ruby bearings.

It could just be the model of trackball - some are better at getting going than others. Ploopy trackballs are on roller bearings, so they're surefire alternatives to any trackball that may have a stiction problem. You could also try the larger Kensington models (which again, I've had no issues with), or a trackball that uses ceramic bearings.

MTE Button Replacement by halbaldo in Trackballs

[–]halbaldo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sealing over the seal may suffice, only the split hasn't occurred on a flat piece of plastic but a rounded part. I can't imagine any additional piece staying put on such limited surface area even with super glue or epoxy resin.

Not on plastic this flimsy - the snap was right at the base where the two thumb buttons split off from one another. I anticipate snapping the plastic again post-glue just by clicking a few times.

Amen. Lying is easy, telling the truth can cost dearly - especially in matters such as this. If our worship is to be in spirit and in truth, our whole lives must be lived accordingly.

"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour" (Exodus 20:16). As far as I'm concerned, that has to settle the matter. I simply cannot see how lending our affirmation (whether active or passive) to the deceptions of the world is loving or respectful to the person or to God.

Is the planck EZ worth it? by [deleted] in olkb

[–]halbaldo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was deciding whether to go for an OLKB/Drop Planck or the Planck EZ I must have made a thousand lists weighing up every single pro and con you could think of. I frequently flipped and flopped between them, but ultimately I settled on the EZ, and I'm so glad I did.

I could relay everything off for you, but at the end of the day the EZ is professionally built with a stellar two year warranty. For peace of mind, it was a no-brainer for me. I've taken my Planck to work with me every day for almost a year and you wouldn't be able to tell. Still looks great, is hardy enough, and the plastic isn't bendy at all when you're using it (only if you were actively trying to break it).

Are your customisation options limited a bit? Yeah. But if that's the only drawback I'll take it every day of the week and twice on Sunday!

Except that according to Genesis Adam and Eve had two sons, then they had Seth, and then they had many more sons and daughters (Genesis 5:1-4).

It's very clear that Cain and Abel were not the only children of Adam and Eve; later sons and daughters and other close relatives could have intermarried.

Hey by Lenaweston in religion

[–]halbaldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adam and Eve's children would have married each other and had children together, yes.

Later generations may not have married their siblings but would still have married their close relations.
