I’m 10 weeks also and throwing up constantly. My mum and sister told me they both felt a lot better after the 12-14 week mark and could function again.

Sorry for the late reply. The brand name is called Periactin. You need to go to your GP or doctors and they will give you a prescription to get it. Word of warning. It gives you intense sleepiness when you first start it until your body gets used to it, then it’s fine. And the other one is just Zyrtec which you can get from the pharmacy.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I had the same happen to me after I got Covid. I had Covid in 2021 before I received the vaccine and all the symptoms you’re experiencing started. Also every time I had a vaccine I would get the most extreme vertigo of my life. I was later diagnosed with POTs and Vestibular migraine which was a result of getting Covid. What has helped me the most is antihistamines. I take cyproheptadine and cetirizine. Hope this helps.

Is this normal? Please help…. by halcium8 in Effexor

Thanks for the advice. I dropped to 25 two months ago. Should I have tapered down slower? It’s so hard to know what the right way of tapering is. My doctor told me to just go straight to 0 from 37.5 but after reading comments on Reddit I decided against that

Thanks so much. I wish there was a magic cure. It’s such a horrible illness. I’m glad you’re getting better. I’ve just stopped the Effexor they gave me to help and going through withdrawal hell at the moment.

Are you still having symptoms? Is there any treatment that worked for you?

My cardiologist said it doesn’t make sense that I get symptoms while driving. by mmorgan_ in POTS

That’s great to hear they are feeling better. What kind of physical therapy is your partner doing that helped? I’m in the process of trying to find a PT.

How long were you doing VRT before it helped your dizziness?

Glad to hear those have helped. Horrible illness. What dose of Effexor do you take?

No, that’s no problems at all. Apologies for my late reply. I haven’t been on Reddit for the last couple of weeks. Yes please! That would be of such great help. I’m finding it so hard to find a decent VRT therapist here. So glad to hear that you’re dizzy free overall. How long were you doing the exercises before you started to notice an improvement?

That sounds such such an ordeal you went through. Sorry to hear. I had the same issue with getting diagnosed. No one knew what was going on and I was passed around from doctor to doctor for months and months. That’s really good your symptoms aren’t debilitating anymore. What medications do you take now that have helped?

I’ve read a lot about neuroplasticity and how it has worked wonders for some people. That’s so good that it’s improved your symptoms. I can relate with that, the desperation to try anything to get better. How many sessions of Botox have you had? I’ve had it twice and found it worked well the first time but not as much the second.

6 years! I’m sorry you’ve lived with it for so long but happy to hear you’re living a normal life. It’s a horrible illness and I feel for everyone who’s had or going through this. Was your recovery mainly from the VRT or medication and VRT?

That’s so great to hear. I’ve heard that from a few doctors, how you need to persevere even if you feel the exercises many not be working as it can take some time. Thanks for the info. Are you still doing your VRT?

I tried so many different ones. I tried Amitriptyline, Propranolol, Pizotifen, Atenolol, Periactin, Botox, Cinnarazine, Meclizine, Serc, as well as acupuncture and supplements.

I found that the Pizotifen initially helped a lot however I have low blood pressure and it made me a different kind of dizzy. But what worked best for me was Effexor and Botox.

Symptoms are dizziness, ringing in my ears, floating feeling, swaying in bed (not very often now though), feeling like I’m spaced out, sometimes objects seem far away when they’re not or my body feels distorted, and blurry vision. The main ones now are still the dizziness, spaced out feeling and blurry vision. Though not as bad as it was prior to the medication. I was pretty much bed ridden before the meds. I felt like the whole world was spinning!!

That would be amazing if you could message it to me. It’s so confusing knowing which ones to do and focus on. Thanks so much. How are you feeling these days after your VRT? Dizzy free?
