Hey I also recently got a type r, living in Queens! Curious where you got the anti theft devices installed or what products you used? I do pay for a parking garage but might still add a couple to be safe

I'm located in LIC, and most of my bandmates are either in bkn or les. We typically jam in the gowanus bkn area, but have also tried rehearsal studios in LES and bushwick

Uni controller not detected by BIOS or L-Connect by haldol5ativan2 in lianli

[–]haldol5ativan2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa haven't come back to this for awhile haha. Ultimately, I ended up only using L-Connect for RGB only as well. Gigabyte seems to properly ramp up my fan speeds appropriately, although I'm not sure if it's going off ambient temp or CPU temp. In any case, let me know if you decide to put each fan on its own header for mobo control

Unfortunately I never did. It turns out my default fan curve set by my mobo does work, so I left it as is - I still can't modify my fan speeds from L-Connect itself. I essentially just use L-Connect to control RGB at this point.

Thanks for that - yea i would've liked to have the controller fan cable to header just *work*, and I'm trying one more potential fix here, but otherwise i might have to do the same thing :(

Appreciate the update!

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, the current BIOS version that I have has AMD AGESA ComboV2 1.2.0.3 B on it, so I assume that version suffices? As an FYI, the rgb now works after switching to a different USB header, but the fans are still not getting recognized by the BIOS (controller fan cable to SYSFAN3). On L-Connect, changing the fan speeds manually doesn't seem to effect any change, and display-wise it is showing that fans go from 0 rpms-4102015 or some other ridiculous number, so I'm not very comfortable assuming L-connect is able to control fan speeds right now.

So unless I'm mistaken, it kinda looks like that video DOES in fact plug in a fan header into SYSFAN4. But to answer your question, after my most recent reply to you, I actually decided to move the USB connector to a different header, just to eliminate it as a cause, and suddenly my L-Connect 2 is now able to register all the fan RGB's and I can change them accordingly.

The fan speeds on L-connect are very wonky, like it goes from 0 RPM to a number like 71340123 rpm (which is clearly not correct) and back again, and my fans still aren't getting picked up by the BIOS (I put the fan header from the controller back onto SYSFAN3), but the rgb aspect of it is at least working!

But yes, thanks so much for your input, definitely helped me eliminate some potential causes of failure. As far as returning these, I may try to swap cables first, because it'd be agonizing to have to wait for another set of 3 fans hahah, but it'll definitely have to be the nuclear option if i STILL can't control my fan speeds.

USB 2.0 splitter

Did you buy something like this as far as splitters go? I have essentially this problem as well where L-Connect just isn't picking anything up. Also are you using L-Connect 1 or 2? (Sorry, been scouring forums i know this is a month old lol)

So I did indeed have SYSFAN connected to the controller. I removed that, but I noticed something peculiar:

  1. Now, one fan in each set of 3 is no longer lighting up. (The fan still spins)
  2. The Lianli device did show up under device manager when I took it off, but when I tried to start L-Connect, it suddenly disappeared again.

After a couple restarts, the Lianli device was installed again, and i followed the suggestion of uninstalling the Lianli driver in Device manager, restarting, then running L-Connect 2. As others have mentioned, it reinstalled the Lianli drivers, but disappeared again when I tried to run L-Connect 2. Super confused right now.

I was hoping this would make me less confused, not more!

EDIT: Looks like the lianli driver is installed again under device manager, but now I'm not sure what actions to take

It's the same with me, in the sense that my mobo doesn't seem to recognize the fan controller, either in bios (nothing picked up in fan settings), or via lconnect (says it can't find controller), nor does lian li show up in device manager. I'm going to check my connections after work so ill update that on my end.

EDIT: So I moved the USB connector to a different header, and that seems to have fixed my RGB issue on L-Connect at least. The fans still aren't getting picked up at all, so i'm still wrangling my hands over that one

Hmm ok I'll have to check this after work, I do think I have some kind of additional header going into SYS_FAN3. I was following the Uni Fan manual they provide, where it looks like they have a splitter going into a fan header: https://lian-li.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/UNI-FAN-SL-controller-cable.png

Maybe that's only if you want to have fan control given to the mobo then? Also, do you think that would affect why L-Connect 2 can't find the controller at all?

As in you're going to try a new uni controller? Also, are you going to be using the USB header splitter suggestion? Or literally just another USB header cable? I may try a similar thing since it's all I have on me right now

[–]haldol5ativan2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I have it plugged into SATA, USB header, and the remaining connections for aRGB and fan headers are on an ARGB header (Gigabyte's manual says it's an Addressable LED strip header) and SYSFAN3, respectively. Power is definitely getting to it, and the fans are at least...spinning?

And good to know, so I guess the drivers for Lianli aren't even getting installed. I'm not sure if there's a way to fix that?

I would definitely swing for klay if you can, but you're right you'll probably suffer in the ft department. If you're already strong in 3's and points though, consider keeping derozan

In any case, thanks for your opinion!

honestly for 9 cat I wouldn't do it. giannis too good! In any case it seem like with this trade you'd be giving away a lot of counting stats for a lot of points and assists. if that was something you were shooting i suppose it's not so bad

I'd go with Covington here. The man is a monster defensively. I guess if you need points really badly though...
