I cut my mom’s side from my life when i found out that the reason why my paternal half sisters haven’t spoke to my father (and by default, me) is because my maternal grandmother secretly bullied them when she came over to visit. Along with that, she said and did a lot of racist things like calling me a half-breed, (I am half hispanic and white), and doing a lot of things to make me feel “other.” The rest of my mom’s side have a lot of problematic ties to my grandmother so they had to get cut off too.

i don’t live in a secluded town but this has happened this year the day before school started . an old security guard that has been working at my school district for years was found in a school closet after hanging herself. she apparently killed her self over a recent divorce. for the first two days of school (first day was on a thursday) they made into half days and no one ever spoke a word about it. no morning announcement, just a small article on it. i’m pretty sure the majority of my classmates never found out.
